As they walked up to the door of a hotel room at the Ritz Carlton, one man in the balaclava loudly knocked and then they both turned away and exited through the stairs door from which they all came.

Mia stood in front of the door thinking about what was about to happen to her. She had no idea where she was and who was behind the door.

Kirill opened the door and as soon as he saw her, he roughly grabbed her upper arm and dragged her in the room.

He was beyond furious.

"What the fuck were you thinking, Mia?!" His tone was strict and angry. "Since when do you not listen to me?" He stood close to her and looked down at her doe eyes.

Mia was shaken from everything that just happened to her. She was so relieved and happy to see him and she slowly began to realize that a few moments ago, her life almost changed forever.

Looking up at his familiar and beautiful facial features, she almost burst into tears but then remembered that she didn't do anything wrong and asked herself why he felt he could accuse her.

She walked away from him into the room but stopped in her tracks as she saw another man standing by the window. She thought she had seen him before in Russia.

He was tall and fit and had a youthful look. His dark blond hair was cut very short and he looked at her with a genuine smile and a twinkle in his blue eyes.

"That's Danila." Kirill said coming into the room.

"Здравствуйте. Очень приятно познакомиться еще раз." (Hello, it's very nice to meet you again.)

The man said warmly and walked over to Mia and stretched out his arm to shake her hand. She slowly took his hand in hers and shook it and said hello as he smiled at her.

Danila was Kirill's very good friend and he liked Mia. The one and only time they met was a year ago when Kirill took her to Russia for the first time and invited his friends over to go to the sauna.

Right away he noticed that she was special and he closely observed her that day. He looked more mature now and while he was curious to speak with her, he didn't have a chance to really chat too much when he saw her last.

Now he was very pleased to stand in the same room as her and see her again and enjoy her presence. He couldn't make it to the wedding and regretted missing seeing her all dolled up in her wedding dress.

"I don't understand, Kirill." She began, turning to him. "Are you dead or not? Who else knows?" She was beginning to feel truly hurt that it seemed his friend knew about his fake murder but she didn't.

"I was just as shocked as you were, believe me. Kirill came back from the dead, like Sherlock Holmes!" Danila interjected trying to add some humour to the situation but Mia was not in a laughing mood.

"What the fuck is going on?" It was now her turn to demand answers.

"I told you not to see Artyom, did I not? Why did you go with him?" Kirill turned the conversation back to where he wanted it to go.

"What the fuck was I supposed to do, Kirill? He accosted me in front of the lawyer's office. Another conversation we need to have, by the way. Be thankful he didn't shove me in his car right then and there. I don't understand you Kirill!" She was now beginning to get angry and fiery. "You don't explain anything, I have fucking psychos chasing after me, and you expect me to do what? Blindly follow the tidbits of information you present to me and read your mind?!" She was now yelling right at him as he stood with his arms crossed in front of her. She didn't care that Danila was witnessing their fight.
