August woke up from the pain she felt before she went out. When her eyes fluttered open, she noticed her surroundings...She wasn't outside anymore, she was somewhere even worse.

A cage.

Like she was some animal.

She shoots up to her feet, ignoring the signs in her body that screamed otherwise.

"Finally, you're up," August turns around, eyes wide in terror as she sees James, David's friend—Or partner or whatever he was to him.

"Where's my daughter," She orders, it wasn't a question if he was going to tell her no matter what.

"Somewhere..." He says, as he's sitting on a chair in front of the cage, so nonchalant, so calm and ever so evil.

"Where is she?" August repeats and it only makes him smile even wider.

"That's what I liked about you," He says, not giving her the answer she really wants, "The way you protected her. I see it in your eyes, you'd do just about anything for her, would you?"

August just glares at him, as she begins looking for a way out...

"And I understand, you need someone to protect you and your daughter," James nods to himself, as if he understands, "But, that man...He's the wrong choice and as a good mother, you should know that."

She can't climb out...The bars reach all the way to the roof....

"If you let me, I'll protect you," He offers and August scoffs to herself, "I will. Better than him."

"There's a difference, you see, between a man with honor and a man who kills anything in his way. He'll protect you, sure, but soon enough, all those bodies are going to come crawling back..." August began to get frantic, trying to find some way out. There has to be. There has to be somewhere out.

"What's your name?" He asks her, his voice sounding like he deserved to know.

August glares at him with tears in her eyes, "Where's my daughter?"

"She's alive."

"I want to see it,"

"You can trust me—"

"FUCK YOU!" August shrieks, grabbing hold of the metal bars so tightly, her knuckles went white, "YOU FUCKING LITTLE SHIT! YOU—YOU TELL ME WHERE SHE IS!"

He smiles.

Doesn't flinch. Doesn't look the slightest disturbed by August's manic state, only amused.

"There she is. Knew you had it in you."

August pants, staring at him, murder written in her eyes, "When I get out of this cage, and trust me I will," Her voice was scarily soft, enough to send shivers down her own spine, "I will murder you. I will make it slow, I will make you suffer and you will regret ever looking at me and my daughter."

"You threatenin' me, sweetie?"

"No, I'm making you a promise."

He chuckles, "Sweetie, let me tell you something. I'm not the bad guy here and you know it. I didn't kill an innocent father. I didn't leave a little girl father-less. That was your man, that you care about so much," He scoffs, "Is he really worth all this? All this suffering?"

He is. He always is.

"David is offering you a new beginning, a new life here with us. We'll take care of you and your daughter. You're alone only if you allow yourself to be."
