"Woooh! Five hundred na siya, guys! Let's all cheer for our team captain."
The particular area on BGC where the basketball team is now crowded by people looking at Colet taking the dare of a thousand push-ups. Just after their tiring practice for a game tomorrow, Colet suggested the team to tag along with her at BGC but everyone complained and declined until their captain said what was the purpose of going there and here they are now acting all energetic despite their tired bodies on doing heavy drills and workouts from a while ago.
"Ang easy naman para kay cap yan!"
"Promise hindi na ako late sa susunod na mga practice natin, cap!"
"Baka inspired yung Captain natin guys eh!"
Colet just continued on doing her thing while listening to all her teammates' teases. She took a glance on her coach who was silently cheering her on which made Colet push herself to finish the challenge, lies. It was clearly because of their bet with Mikha. One thing that is admirable about their friendship is that they really stick to their word, no one breaks each other's promises and swears. Clearly as the founder of the band, she was finally satisfied that they have found a permanent vocalist. It is pretty obvious that the reason would have been that amazing jam session they had that afternoon but it turns out that wasn't the sole reason. It's all because Maloi sang in the comfort room in which Colet finally heard the voice she was looking for, that girl in the rain. It's like fate has given her a favor that she has finally found who she was looking for and is just now at her reach. Thank God for that and to Mikha for bringing Maloi to the band so that was her driving force to whole heartedly take the bet seriously as a surprise to her bandmates which is why she requested her team so she has the right witnesses for this. She is normally scared of strangers looking at her especially that she is doing this challenge at public but she was brave enough to do it, no matter what happens. As she heard the people count to 992, she looked up on what's in front of her to see the girl that's been on her mind for quite some time now, it was Maloi running towards her direction with a worried face. Everything became slow on Colet's perspective, she feels a different kind of feeling when she is with the girl and somewhat wants to know the reason why she had to sing that particular song in which she fell in love with Maloi's voice, was the girl broken-hearted? Wait a minute, love is such an exaggeration. Regardless, Colet may be somewhat confused yet very determined on figuring out these things towards her new bandmate right now.
"Tumayo ka nga diyan, lumagpas ka na ng one thousand! Why are you even doing this?"
She heard the people cheering for her but Colet's eyes are just fixated on Maloi who is actually making sure if the drummer was okay, she suddenly realized that this feeling is something new to her so she turned her gaze to the people surrounding them just to see her bandmates and bestfriend were just nearby with matching smirks, oh these jerks.
"Hey, are you even listening to me?! Vergara, answer my damn question!"
"U-uhh... I'm sorry, Maloi. I got confused for a bit on what is happening."
"Tingnan mo toh, push-up pa more! Let's get you home na nga."
"Ano ba yan, Cap! Tiklop ka ba sa gf mo?"
"Ano? May girlfriend ka na, cap?!"
"That's enough! Everyone, go home now. We still have training and you all need to rest."
The whole team followed their coach and waved their goodbyes to everyone. All that was left is Colet's coach and the girls.
"I see familiar faces except for one. May I know your name, miss?"
"Maloi Ricalde po, a new member of the band Colet has made."
"I am guessing that you are the vocalist since these girls needed one for so long."
Everyone chuckled on the coach's statement as Colet shyly scratched her nape.
"You are indeed correct, Mr. Coach. What can I say, they were just waiting for me to come."
"I like her, you better keep this one. Anyways, it's nice meeting you all. I expect our next meet will be Colet's next game which will happen pretty soon."
"Oh wow! We don't know about that since someone hates talking. We will be there."
"That's good to hear, Gwen. Ingat kayo pauwi. Colet, remember my reminders today."
"Yes, coach. Thank you for today."
The girls waved to the man who is on his way to the parking area.
"Hoy, Vergara! What were you thinki—
"As much as I want to respectfully hear your sermons, I am pretty exhausted and want to go home and rest, Aiah."
"Sinong hindi mapapagod sa intense training then biglang may hirit na ganito?"
"Chill ka na diyan, babe. Let your best friend get her rest and you can sermon her the following day naman. I can even help you with that matter."
"We are sleeping at Maloi's place remember?"
"Oh yeah, you guys were having a party pala. Why did you guys come here?"
"The two thunders got worried for you. Wow naman, kiligin ka sana please."
Colet was shocked on Jhoanna's revelation that she immediately turned to face on Maloi's direction. She feels those certain emotions again for the girl.
"You really didn't have to do that, Maloi. I am totally fine naman."
"Hello, ako rin naman nag-alala sayo. Bakit si Maloi lang ang kinakausap mo?"
"Look, Colet. If you are totally fine, you would not be shaking right now. Sumama ka na sa amin, hindi kami makapali that you are going home alone after a tiring day."
"I brought my car naman so it's fine. I'm sorry I couldn't join your slumber party ulit, Maloi. I need to bihin and get enough rest."
"Alam mo, couz. I will drive you home na at baka ano pa ang masasabi ng mga tao dito na concerned para sayo. Nakalimutan ko na tayo yung magkapamilya at dapat mag alaga ako sayo noh."
"You smell drunk, Apuli. Look, I will all update you all the moment I arrive home so please let me get some rest. I will see you all tomorrow. Good night and take care."
Colet took her bag and started walking away from the group. It's a good thing she won on that argument that she will go solo and not force her friends to be her burden. Just as she was about to cross the road to reach her car, she felt someone's arm laced unto hers.
"I am coming with you. Let me take care of you, Colet."
Oh wow, Maloi. That gesture surely made the Colet's system go crazy again.
