(TW: STILL MENTIONING VOMIT FROM THE LAST CHAPTER)
"Uh... Are you finished?"
Bill pulled his head out of the trash can and nodded, pushing it away from Dipper's bed so he could turn around to lean against it. Dipper looked at the trash can next to Bill in disgust, turning his head away from it, and mumbled, "I... I needed a new trash can anyways."
Bill pulled his knees up to his chest and buried his face into them. He whimpered in pain, making Dipper worry.
"H-hey... What just happened? Y-your eye back there turned black a-and red..." Dipper stammered.
Bill didn't look up, but replied, "I think whatever did this to me used some spell to wipe my memory and my body's reacting to it badly..."
"Oh... That makes sense," Dipper muttered. "... Um, do you need anything?"
"Just keep the others out. I want to be alone."
"O-okay then..."
Dipper was about to stand up before Bill interrupted him, "No. Stay."
Dipper was a bit surprised at the request, but settled back down again. He looked at Bill, expecting to see him pull his head up by now, but he still stayed with his head down. Dipper's concern for him grew.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
"I don't think so."
"...Pine Tree, it's fine."
Bill finally lifted his head up again to look up at Dipper. What surprised the brunette was the look in his blue eye. Bill looked pained and sick... And kind of worried. Dipper felt bad for him.
"Kid, can I tell you something?" Bill suddenly said, his gaze looking away from Dipper.
Dipper knew that phrase was never good, but still replied, trying to remain calm, "Uh, yeah, sure."
Bill hesitated, before sighing, and saying, "I'm scared."
Scared? No, Dipper had to have heard him wrong. Bill Cipher, a powerful dream demon, didn't get scared. He made others scared. Bill Cipher wasn't suppose to feel things like that.
Bill saw the shocked look in Dipper's eyes, but still continued, "I-I'm scared of what did that to me. I'm scared of why and how it did this to me. I'm scared that it's going to come back for more. I'm s-scared it's going to come back for me... Or you."
Dipper's heart skipped a beat, but still managed to speak, "I-I... It's okay to be scared, Bill."
"No, Pine Tree. It's not for me," Bill snapped, but then calmed down again. "... Scared isn't the only thing I've felt lately, either. I-I get nervous whenever Stanford calls for us. I get excited a-and happy whenever we get to go do fun things together. I sometimes feel sympathy for people on the news whenever I hear about bad things that happen to them. Pain isn't funny anymore. I actually feel hurt..."
Dipper's worry only grew as Bill looked at him, tears swelling up in his eye, and said in a stern voice, "Pine Tree, I'm becoming human."
Dipper sat, trying to find something to say to him, but couldn't find any words for the demon. He felt bad for him, he truly did, but he didn't want to make Bill feel worse about it by saying "hey, being human isn't that bad".
"I-is there anything we could do?" Dipper softly asked. "D-does this mean you won't have your powers anymore?"
Bill shook his head and sighed, "No... Once you become human you stay human... But I'll still have my powers... I'll just be soft like a human."
