Where is Salv? Selene has been waiting for him since 3 pm. It has been 2 hours now. He is never this late. She picked up her phone to call him again. "What the hell Salv. You could have just told me you are busy I would have asked someone else to drop me off or just walked home by now. I am gonna make you buy my favorite Strawberry Creamcheese Croissant for the next 2 weeks as salvation for my precious hours", she murmured to herself in frustration.
"Hello! Miss? May I know who is calling"
"Hello? Who is this? I am calling Salvatore De Luca. This is his phone. I am Selene his neighbor" Selene was panicking now. She could hear the Sirens in the background. Police? Ambulance?
"Miss Selene, I would have to ask you to come down to the Pavia Police Station. We have your neighbor with us. He has been arrested for his crimes. Kindly come down here, we need some details from you." The Police officer sounded like a well-trained machine operator and at that very moment, it gave chills to Selene.
She put her bag on her shoulder and ran as fast as she could. It was a 10 mins walk from her school and maybe with her speed she could reach there within 6-7 mins.

"Salv! Salv! Sir. I am here to meet Mr. Salvatore De Luca. Green-brown eyes, around 6 feet and... and black hair, fair skin. Where is he?" Selene shouted out almost breathless with all the running.
"Ma'am, please calm down and have a seat. I will look around at all the people who were brought in tonight" she heard a man's voice trying to calm her down and directing her to a 3 chaired place at the corner.
She was scared. She has never been inside this Station. Always walked by it and was slightly scared and cautious. And now she was here and Salv was arrested. In all panic, she forgot to call anyone else for help. She picked up her phone to call Salv's mom and then her parents.
Within 15 mins all of them were there beside her. Selene's mom was holding her tightly. Her dad went in to talk to the officers. Salv's mom was crying so badly. Nobody understood what happened. Salv was never involved in anything remotely out of the law.
Selene's dad motioned them to come in. And all of them were called into a cabin. As Selene entered, she saw Salv and released a breath she didn't know she was holding. But it was short-lived. The next moment she saw Salv's face. He was in pain. His smile was hidden in the darkest doom and all she could see was a guy trying to hide his pain but his body showed it all.
Selene was imagining all the punches, kicks, and hits he received. And she was pissed. Oh hell, who did this? She went to the police, while her mom held her from behind and spoke some soothing words. Why isn't Salv looking at me? What is happening?
"Sir, ma'am. Please have a seat. Who is Mr. Salvatore De Luca's immediate family?" Salv mom nodded. Not able to speak up. She was just in shock.
"Mrs. De Luca, your son has been arrested for 2nd Degree Murder and can be sentenced to at least 15 years to the lifetime of imprisonment."
It took a few seconds for Selene to grasp the reality of the officer's words.
"But how? Salvatore darling? Speak up. What happened?" Salv's mom tried to go toward's her son. And she saw the cuffs on his hands. Nobody truly saw them before. Was this really happening to them?
"I didn't do anything. I didn't. I have been trying to tell them, that I am innocent. Luka was the one who pulled out his gun and suddenly shot the person. I was too shocked to react. But I didn't do it. Ahh..." Salv spoke up for the first time since this started. But was stopped by the officer beside him, who hit him.
Selene rushed to him and pulled out the officer's hand from Salv's body. "Don't you dare hit him or I will fire a complaint against you. He is innocent unless proven otherwise."
Selene was holding Salv from behind now. Almost like support. Salv was truly grateful for this. Luca. The Businessman's son? He was Salv's college buddy. She never liked him. But he was a powerful guy. His parents were largest shareholders of one of the Biggest MNCs in Europe.
She was getting scared now. The more this case went by, the more spirals and loopholes of the system she could see.
Salv was kept in jail until his hearing. The whole process went on for 6 months. Salv had the short end of the stick here. His mom owned a small restaurant downtown and his dad died by the time he met Selene at the age of 16. One of the main reasons why he and his mom shifted to Pavia.
But now he didn't have any power. Selene's parents though were way richer still didn't hold any candle to Luca's Rich parents.
What Selene got to know by her visit to Salv was that Salv was hanging out with Luca. And it was around 2:30 pm. He had to leave soon to pick Selene up from school and then hang out with her. But Luca insisted on passing by a coffee shop before. Suddenly an old man comes by them talking some rubbish about Luca's parents. And the next thing he knows, Luca took a gun out of his pocket and shot him in the cafe. It was 2:30 pm. The cafe just had one barista who went into the kitchen to bring them some napkins and the whole cafe was empty.
Salv's hearing was so hazy and felt like everyone conspired to put him in jail. The lawyer, the supposed witnesses, and every piece of evidence was either rejected by the court or somehow traced back to Salv being the murderer. The Police were already against him. And just like that at the age of 23, Salvatore De Luca was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for 2nd Degree Murder.
