Chapter 25

Althea woke up and hurry outside. She empty her stomach. Women gather around to asked if she was OK. She give them a thumbs up.

She get some water and wash her mouth out. Yeilk came out and lead her back to the healer.

"I'm fine."

"You're not fine. Throwing up is not normal."

"I know what's wrong!" Rubes came bouncing into the healers home with the biggest grin on her face. "She's pregnant!"

Yeilk pale.

"What?"

"Those are the same symptoms the other women have before they know they were with child."

Althea groan. Rubes was probably right. She did miss a few months. With everything going on she just push it to the back of her mind.

"Rubes is correct. You're with child Chief."

Yeilk groan. Eveyone look at him.

"Babies are scary." Althea laugh as she got to her feet.

"You'll be fine. They aren't that bad."

"You have me too brother."

"I guess I can try." Althea hug him.

"Thank you. Now I'm hungry."

They went out to get some food. Yeilk was still thinking hard. The possibility of becoming a father this early has never cross his mind. But he can't do anything about it so he'll just have to help where he can.

"So how is Hans?"

"Well he talk to me so that's progress." It's been almost a week so if he talk to Rubes it's progress. He usually just walk away from her.

"There's hope. So what do you think of him?"

That got Yeilk's attention. "He's different. I like different. Plus he's a good fighter."

"You'll make a perfect couple."

Rubes cheeks tinted pink.

"Ok that's enough man talk. I have training."

"Good luck." There's no training for her because of recent developments.

"So where do you want to go?"

"Back to bed. I need sleep." Yeilk nod and stood. "You can put me down you know."

"I like this way better." He carry her to their home and refused to release her.

He's was becoming way too protective for her liking. Her pregnancy make him even more protective.

She lay on her stomach with a smile on her face. In no time she was asleep so Yeilk went to train with the others.

When Althea woke up again it was midday. She walk outside and stretch.

"You're up! We got several baskets of berries and so much meat."

"We celebrating something?"

"Just another day of like. There will be singing and dancing and all you can drink."

"Well I could eat. Where is that man of mine?"

"Oh he tell me to tell you when you wake that he's waiting by the lake."

"Oh goodie. See you later." She head for the forest. Despite it being evening it's still piping hot. She has to be careful not to get sun burn.

She navigate her way to the lake and Althea could see Yeilk leaning against a tree as naked as the day he was born. He was giving the animals a full view.
