I was given a hammock to sleep in. Kate said that since I wasn't part of the crew I don't exactly get the luxury of a bed. Though some of the other members also had hammocks. I say others but there is not that many people on this ship. Before being lead below deck I was introduced to "The Wandering Wolves". That is apparently what they refer to themselves as. Besides Kate there is only one other female on this ship and that is Stella. Same age as Kate and I, slightly taller than Kate. She has long blonde hair that she keeps tied up and almost dresses in the same get-up as Kate except Stella wears more jewelry. I'm told she makes them. A hobby of hers though Kate refuses to wear anything Stella makes.
"She's not a girly girl that one." She said and then laughed when Kate gave her a death stare.
Next up we have Worm, yes that is his name. Stella tells me that. to her knowledge, not even Kate knows his actual name so she gave him a nickname. He didn't put up a fuss with the name, just accepted it. He would be the guy that threw the rope down to Kate and I. He has brown hair that reaches to his shoulders, average height I suppose. He seems to be very adept at ropes, sails, knots. He swings around on them to get around the ship and he also walks around bare foot. Very strange guy.
Another strange one on this ship is Alex. Alex doesn't talk. Kate doesn't know if he is even able to talk but he does understand what we're saying. Strong guy too, he hauls around barrels and helps Worm with the ropes and sails.
Less strange is the cook, Donner. Probably the only normal guy on this ship. He does all the cooking and believe me it's the best food I've ever tasted. Donner hangs around Stella a lot so I asked Worm if they were together. He laughed and said that Donner is betrothed to a girl back where he comes from. He hangs around Stella because Stella reminds him of his little sister.
Then there's of course Beda, who always steers the ship and seems to be Kate's second in command. According to Worm, Beda is married and has a daughter."Two of the crew seem to have families, why would they sail around with Kate and not be home with them?"
Worm shrugged, "They have their reasons to be here, same as you and I. If you want the full story then go ahead and ask them, mate."
"It's Matt."
"That's what I said." He climbed up the rigging and disappeared in the mess of ropes. So minus me there are six members of The Wandering Wolves. Weird group of people.
"Heads up!" Kate tossed an apple at me. "Not getting sea sick are ya? There's no land for a while so you would probably puke a lot of guts up."
It had been a day since we left Ameliasburg and Kate still hasn't answered any of my questions.
"There's no way any normal person could heal like that."She took a bite of her apple, "You're still on that? It's easier just to assume I wasn't shot at all."
"You were though, I also technically shot you. You should have a scratch on your face but yet you don't."
"I've told you before, unless you see what I am you won't believe me."
I took a bite of the apple she tossed me. Stella waved at us and walked over, "What's up you two?"
"Matt's continued quest to get answered." Kate said.
"Come on Kate you should tell him. He'll keep asking you if you don't."
"Wait Stella, you can tell me right?"
With that Kate placed a hand over Stella's mouth, "Stella suddenly can't speak, direct your questions to Alex."
Stella bit down on Kate's hand, "Surprised you don't know actually."
Stella grabbed Kate's sword that was sheathed around her waist and pointed it at Kate.
