"For an older guy he seemed nice...kind of cute too"
We had left Thomas' shop after the bow was paid for and he'd given me a quiver with 24 arrows in it. Kate even bought a small book on how to make different type of arrows for me to look at another shop while Stella bought the supplies she needed. We of course covered up our faces with the head wear.
"Really, Stel?" Kate gave her a little shove.
"I did hate how he called me Matt's girly friend. I mean can't he tell it's a relationship between you two."
"Again with that?" This time I denied it for Kate. I have no romantic feelings for this woman, especially a pirate. Stella insisted on it as we continued walking. Loud enough even for an old lady to hear. She shouted at us to come closer as we almost missed her little market stand.
"You're a psychic?" Stella knelt down in front of the old woman.
"Yes dearie, you seemed to be troubling your friends with a love question. I have the answers you seek by ones own hand."
"We don't need a supposed psychic to tell us what we already know." Scuffed Kate.
"Oh come on, it will be fun. What's the harm in it?" Stella handed the lady a coin.
Kate shook her head but reluctantly knelt down beside Stella. The old woman gestured for Kate's hand. Kate held out her right hand and the old woman flipped it to show her palm. With her bony fingers the old lady traced Kate's palm. The lady then closed her eyes and began swaying. Kate gave me a weird look and I just shrugged. Stella was trying to hold back a laugh.
"I see...you are troubled. For this one is indeed in love..."
"I knew it!" Stella clasped her hands together in joy. Kate retracted her hand away quickly and the lady opened her eyes.
"A secret perhaps?"
Kate stood up "Let's go"
Stella stood up as well and handed the lady another coin "Who is it? Can you give me a hint please?"
"Let's go!" Kate grabbed Stella's arm this time and pulled her along. Behind us the old lady shouted "Running from it will not make you feel better!"
"What a crazy old lady" I said once we were far away from that wind bag.
"Is it Alex?"
"Stop" Kate continued on quickening her pace from Stella.
"If it's Worm I'll slap you because that is just no. It could be Knightly."
I laughed a bit at that "It's definitely not Knightly."
"Can we drop it? That lady is clearly senile and is just a sham." Kate clearly was getting agitated.
"If she's a sham then why are you so upset about it? Ohhh I bet it's someone back home at Zona. There's a lot of guys living there though, I'll have to make a list. What's your type of guy anyway?" Stella grabbed Kate's shoulder to slow her down a bit and Kate shrugged her off.
She turned around quickly "I said drop it! We're done!"
Stella backed off at that outburst and Kate continued walking ahead of us. I decided to change the subject since Stella had become absolutely quiet.
"What's Zona?"
"It's called Zona Protetta, it means safe haven. Beda and Kate bought an entire island a while back. It's where Beda's family lives and a lot of other people that Kate and Beda have invited live there too. It really is a safe haven as it's just inside a border of a nearby city where the marines have no jurisdiction."
