The air around them is still rather humid, even as the sun fades into the horizon. Emerald hair is slightly tussled, sand intertwined within the strands of brown as it cascades down her back messily. However, she's sure she looks less troubled then some of the others, Finnick still has quite the gash on his forehead as he stands with them and Katniss has since abandoned her signature braid to let her hair hang in waves. All of them are exhausted, Emerald knows there are probably dark bags underneath her eyes to show this as well.

The brunette stands back slightly and watches Silas, the boy wrapping the wire around the tree with some help from Finnick. Beetee has proven once again why he's incredibly brainy, smart beyond comprehension even, they're going to use the coil of wire he'd collected and wrap it around the lightning tree.

Emerald can't help but stare anxiously, eyes occasionally glancing upwards in case they had in fact got the timing of this whole thing wrong. The last thing she wants to see is Silas and Finnick being fried by the electricity that lightning is going to give off.

Katniss is handed the coil, Beetee looking at the three girls to give them instructions. Emerald doesn't say anything, she can hardly hear him when he begins to speak because her heart is beating so harshly it's drowning out almost all surrounding sound.

"Take this. Unspool it carefully. Make sure the entire coil is in the water, you understand? Then head to the tree at the two o'clock sector. We'll meet you there," Beetee explains to the trio, being very particular about the time frame.

"Maybe I should go with them as a guard?" Peeta interjects, his voice sounding rather desperate.

"No, I need you here. You're staying here to protect me. There are two careers out there, I need two guards," Beetee insists which causes the boy from Twelve to frown.

"Finnick can protect you just fine on his own. Maybe Johanna can stay here?"

Desperate, persistent and Emerald would say suspicious. To a point she understands, he doesn't want Katniss to go with them because he likely doesn't trust them this close to the end. Emerald wouldn't attack her like that and she really doesn't think Johanna would either.

"We will be fine," Emerald speaks to him rather gently, trying her hardest to assure him.

"You all agreed to keep me alive till midnight, correct?" Beetee asks.

"It's his plan, we all agreed to it," Johanna is the next to speak up.

"Is there a problem here?" Finnick questions the group, Silas walking up next to him and narrowing his eyes at Peeta.

Peeta looks at Katniss and then Emerald again, the latter offering him the friendliest smile she can manage. He sighs and nods his head, the boy and Katniss moving away to have a few words with each other. Without even meaning to, Emerald glances at Silas who is already looking at her, the boy nodding once at her to assure her just like she had tried to with Peeta.
