'Lavenders blue, dilly, dilly
Lavender's green~
When I am king, dilly, dilly
You shall be queen~
Who told you so, dilly, dilly
Who told you so?~
'Twas mine own heart, dilly, dilly
That told me so~'

The mice pushed open the window, a fresh breeze blowing through it. You smiled as you sat a little closer to the fresh air.

'Call up your men, dilly, dilly,
set them to work~
Some to the plough, dilly, dilly,
some to the fork,~' You continued to sing.

Downstairs the captain and Duke had made their way outsude.

'Very well. Our task is done, Captain.' The Duke said.

'But fate may yet be kind to us, girls.' Your step mother smiled.

The Grand Duke laughed.

'Indeed, Madam!'

Draco suddenly heard your singing. It for sure couldn't be your stepsisters who's feet they just tested.

'Some to make hay, dilly, dilly,
some to cut corn~
While you and I, dilly, dilly,
keep ourselves warm.~'

He smiled as he took of his disguise.

'What sweet singing. Makes me want to tarry just a little.' He smiled.

'Your Majesty, I-I did not know...' The Duke stuttered.

'Captain, would you be so kind as to investigate?' Draco asked.

He could feel it in his gut that this had to be you. His mystery princess.

'It would be my pleasure, Your Majesty.' He smiled.

Upstairs you had no idea what was happening. You just sat there in your window, enjoying the view.

'Lavender's green, dilly, dilly,
Lavender's blue~
If you love me, dilly, dilly,
I will love you~'

You jumped a little as your door opened. You got up and stared at it, as it opened. The captain? From the castle. He walked into your room.

Hope filled your body. They found you! Maybe this was it! Your happy ever after. Maybe your suffering would finally end. Your Draco..

'There! You see? I told you it was no one of any importance.' Your stepmother tried.

The captain looked at you and smiled. He recognised your from the meeting you had with them in the Woods when they went hunting.

'We'll see about that.' He said.

He walked over to you.

'Miss, you are requested and required to present yourself to your king.'

'I forbid you to do this!' Your stepmother yelled.

The captain raised his brows at the audacity.

'And I forbid you to forbid her! Who are you to stop an officer of the king? Are you an empress? A saint? A deity?'

'I am her mother.'

You looked at her and narrowed your eyes.

'You have never been, and you never will be my mother.' You spoke in disgust.

'Come now, miss.' The captain said.

You followed the captain out of the room. Your stepmother grabbed you as you passed her.. but for this one time.. you didn't feel fear. You looked at her, determined and confident.

'Just remember who you are, you wretch!'

You shut the door. A wave of doubt hitting you as you walked down the stairs. Would who you were, who you really were, be enough? There was no magic to help you this time. This was perhaps the greatest risk that anyone would take. To be seen as you truly were.

You entered the hallway and stopped. You saw yourself in the mirror. Cinderella.. you took a deep breath. Have courage and be kind.. that's what your mother always told you.

You entered the living room. Draco turned to you. The second your eyes met, you both experienced the same butterflies as the night of the dance. You smiled at him and took a small bow.

'Who are you?' Draco asked, smiling brightly.

'I am Cinderella.' You decided to say. 'Your Majesty, I'm no princess. I have no carriage, no parents, and no dowry. I do not even know if that beautiful slipper will fit. But if it does...will you take me as I am? An honest country girl who loves you?'

He stepped a little closer and smiled.

'Of course I will. But only if you will take me as I am. An apprentice still learning his trade.'

You smiled at nodded in return. He pointed at the couch.

'Please.' He asked.

You sat down. Draco kneeled down in front of you and put the slipper on your foot. It fit perfectly. Draco took it back off and offered you his hand. You took it, he helped you up and pulled you closer. His lips slowly came closer to yours.

'Cinderella!' Drisella interrupted your magical moment, before he could kiss you.

'Y/N!' Anastasia yelled.

Drisella dropped down on his knees infront of you.

'My dear sister! I'm sorry.'

'So very sorry.' Anastasia said while pulling his sister of the floor.

They bowed for you.

'Shall we?' He asked.

You nodded and held hands while heading out of the house. Your stepmother and sisters following close behind. You stopped for a moment and slowly turned back.

'I forgive you.' You said.

Forgiven or not, your stepmother and her daughters would soon leave with the Grand Duke, and never set foot in the kingdom again.

-

'I can't believe we just got married!' You exclaimed while holding your husbands hand. Draco stopped you, pulled you in and kissed you deeply.

'My wife.. Y/N Ella Malfoy. Gorgeous.' He smiled. 'The queen of our beautiful kingdom.'

You looked to the side and realised you were standing infront of the portraits that Draco arranged for you. They were portraits of your parents. They were right besides Narcissa's en Lucius painting.

'They would have loved each other.' You smiled.

'We must have a portrait of you painted.' Draco laughed.

'Oh, no. I do hate myself in paintings.' You grinned.

Draco looked at you and wrapped his arm around you. He gently kissed your nose.

'Be kind.' He smiled.

'And have courage.' You added.

'And all will be well.'

He grabbed your hand and you both took a deep breath before heading to the balcony doors.

'Are you ready?' You asked.

'For anything, so long as it's with you.' Draco said.

The doors opened and you walked out. The whole kingdom was cheering you on as you walked to the edge and waved.

'My queen.' Draco smiled.

'My Draco.'

He kissed you infront of the cheering crowd.

And so Draco and you were married. And you were counted to be the fairest and kindest rulers the kingdom had known. And you continued to see the world not as it is, but as it could be, if only you believe in courage, and kindness and occasionally...just a little bit of magic.

The end
