Chapter 1 - A new beginning

A/N: just a quick heads up, a few things will be based on australian high schools, but the rest will just be stuff that ive picked up from other stories but dw, Im sure its not too different from whatever youre used to c:

"Heizou, what!? What was that for??" I yelled as I sprung from my bed, drenched in water from head to toe.

"You need to be lively for your first day! Not my fault you're such a heavy sleeper. This was the only way to get you up! I swear!" He giggled to himself as he ran out of my bedroom door like a little girl after receiving her favourite lolly at an amusement park. "You're gonna be late if you don't start moving, now get ready!"

I groaned as I walked towards our shared bathroom to tidy up. I undressed and got into the shower, sighing to myself.

Let's see, I'll explain what's going on if you're confused. Today is the first day of our senior year in high school, grade 12. While I was in Liyue, I attended one of the most elite schools in Teyvat, only second to Teyvat high, the school I was currently attending. I am 18 years old, my birthday in October, two days before Halloween, and honestly, I can't wait. Heizou, the boy that woke me in a very civilised way before, is my roommate. We've been friends since I was in grade 7, my first year of high school. Like I said before, today is my first day back at Teyvat high, and my third back in Inazuma.

After my quick shower, I stepped out and grabbed a towel before walking back to my room and grabbing my uniform to get changed into. Once changed, I entered the kitchen and saw Heizou eating breakfast while stuck in his phone.

A small smirk found its way to my face. I creeped up behind him, making sure to keep quiet, then hovered my hands over his shoulders, "Rah!" I whispered as I placed my hands down on his shoulders.

Heizou screamed as he threw his phone across the table, holding his chest while breathing heavily. I started giggling, just like he was before, and then it turned into a full-blown fit, with me rolling all over the floor holding my stomach. Heizou just glared at me while leaning over to grab his phone.

"Now what the hell was that for? That was totally uncalled for!" He pointed an accusing finger at me.

"Hmm...Let's call it karma for the time being, yeah? Besides, I think it was quite tame. Considering the way you woke me up before." I smiled at him, getting off the floor and getting my breakfast ready. "By the way, do we have to bring our own lunch? I can't remember exactly, but we didn't need one in Liyue."

Heizou nodded, "yeah, but don't worry about it. I've already got both of our lunches in the fridge. Now as soon as you're done eating, we need to go! Or we'll miss the bus."

"You know, now that you're back in Inazuma, and we're both old enough, we should go to some clubs! I have a few in mind...some of them I've already been too."

"Gay clubs I'm assuming?" I questioned as I sat down on one of the free back seats off the bus.

"Heh," he scratched his neck. "You know me too well...but we don't just have to go to the gay ones! I'm sure I'll be able to find some straight bars and clubs if you'd prefer that!"

"No, no. Don't worry about it, I'll just tag along with you." I gave him a soft smile, and he grinned back at me, sitting in the seat beside me.

The bus slowly started to fill up with other students who were also living in the schools' dorms or in the apartments behind the dorms. Another minute or so later, the bus was full, and we started heading towards the stop next to the school gates.
