Man I really don't like how I wrote this chapter... bear with me guys, I hope it gets better

Also just a reminder! There is still a running plot (sorta) in this story, sorry if half of these chaps feel like fillers

It was now Wednesday afternoon, and I was exiting the school gates with Heizou. Looking to the left when we passed them, my eyes came into contact with a mop of raven hair.

I glanced at Heizou to make sure he hadn't noticed and then focused on Scaramouche again. He was leaning up against the brick wall that connected to the gates, he had a bubbler next to him ushering me to come over.

It wasn't too difficult to see what he wanted me to do, so I turned to Heizou. "Hey Heizou, you walk to the bus stop I'm just gonna go fill my water up." I used my thumb to point over to the tap, but instantly regrated it. I shouldn't have pointed at it; Scaramouche was still standing right there!

Fortunately, by the time Heizou and I turned towards the tap, Scaramouche was no where to be seen. Heizou replied with no suspicion. "Yeah sure, just don't be too long. If we miss the next bus we have to wait another 30 minutes." With that, he spun back around and continued walking.

And now came the tricky part...

I somehow had to stand over there with Scaramouche on the other side of the wall and not draw attention to myself. Obviously, people would just see it as me filling my water bottle, but they would most likely grow curious if I was talking to myself.

I shook my head clear of my thoughts before casually walking over to the bubbler. Once I reached it, I made sure to make my presence known by clearing my throat. I could hear a soft chuckle from around the corner, and then a soft voice.

"Good thing you saw me. Otherwise asking you this would've been really awkward over text." He greeted. All I could do was hum in response, but he understood.

I slowly unzipped my bag, giving us as much time as possible as I 'filled up my water bottle'. Scaramouche took note of this and decided to speed things up a little.

"Ok, so I know this is really sudden and all, but I was wondering... do you wanna go out?" His voice was very audibly nervous, and I couldn't help but find it cute.

"Out? Like on a date? Absolutely! Why wouldn't I?" I replied, trying to keep my excitement at bay.

Scaramouche let out a sigh, "phew, that's great. Hmm..." He thought, "how's Sunday?"

"This Sunday? That sounds great! I'll just have to find some way to get Heizou to let me go... But I'm sure I'll figure something out." I covered my face as a large grin surfaced, excusing it as a yawn.

"Ok, great. If you need some help coming up with something, you know how to reach me." With that, we said our goodbyes and I made my way back to the bus.

Once I got there, Heizou was waiting with his arms crossed as he leant against the bus stop. "You sure took your time, didn't know how long it took to fill a water bottle up." He said jokingly.

I rolled my eyes and was about to retort, but I saw the bus getting ready to pull up. "Well it seems like I was right on time actually. Here's the bus now."

The trip on the bus was quick, and it was only 4:30 when we got home. The entire ride here had been silent, Heizou was looking out the window while I was searching through my mind for any kind of excuse I could use for Sunday.
