"Congratulations Rao Ratan Ji! You're blessed with a baby girl!"
Happiness echoed in the palace walls and singers and musicians started signing songs of joy.
King Rao Ratan of Kurki, the capital of the kingdom of Marwar, had been blessed with a granddaughter. He looked at the adorable baby who was a living miracle.
"Jashoda, I had already decided on this name for Her." He announced as He lifted the baby in His arms. She had already become His darling in the first few moments after She was born.
The royal astrologer was called to predict the baby's future. "She shall be a great devotee and poet, with many songs attributed to Her name. She will be known by the syllables of rhythm, Mee and Raa."
King Rao Ratan smiled and thanked the Gods for the safe future of the baby. He was proud to have the embodiment of Goddess Lakshmi born in His palace.
"Meera, it is then."

Ratan Singh and His Wife Veer Kumari were now proud parents to a baby girl.
Everyone in the household was on Their toes, attending to baby Jashoda. She was everyone's favourite, including Her uncle and aunt.
Celebrations had continued for weeks and gifts and sweets had been distributed. They cherished that Their wish had come true and a girl was born in their home, unlike the stereotypes which defined the superiority of male heirs in other neighbouring villages.
She was the only child of Her parents, and truthfully, Her parents didn't need anyone else. She was Their dream and darling daughter.
They had promised to take care of Her and look after Her every need.
Rao Ratan Singh was a famous and ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu, and Vaishnava traditions were followed in the palace.
Baby Jashoda had already carried forward Her spiritual journey from Her past life when She was Madhavi. Her soul recognised Her purpose and She was born again to unite with Her Lord.
She didn't remember anything from Her past life, but Her conscience still recognised Krishna. She saw Him even in the images and idols of Lord Vishnu worshipped at Her home.
She knew She would soon be united with Her Girdhar Nagar. She was just waiting for the right moment to meet Him.
Baby Jashoda, the apple of everyone's eye at Kurki. She opened Her eyes and smiled gleefully.
She would soon wake up to Her destiny.
