You were never one to break down in front of anyone, so for you to be a mental mess in Soap's arms was shocking to him. You were normally one to always keep your emotions in check around others, even in front of Ghost.

Until you saw her.

Fleeing his room.

Soap kept his arms tight around you, which made you feel so safe and protected in that moment. Soap was your best friend since you had joined the Task Force and without him, you probably would've gone insane. So for him to be here for you while you were at your lowest was a blessing. You would forever be grateful for him.

"You want to tell me what happened? Can you do that for me?....." Soap asked, his voice softly cooing near your ear before he pulled from the hug to cup your face once again, forcing you to look up at his blue eyes that stared intently back. You had to tell Soap, but how could you get yourself to tell him, with your voice?..

"Ghost...." Your voice mumbled out while you blinked a lonely set of tears from your eyes. "She...he— she fled from his room..." you finished, fighting the urge to let your voice crack, the pain still evident in your tone.

"Who?" Soap asked in a concerned tone, his eyes fluctuating between yours and then to your overall expression to see if he could read it out of you, hoping he didn't have to bear you the pain of saying anymore. "Ghost and who, Lass?"

"She's a recruit..." you forced out, choking on your words. "Recruit Maya Beckett..."

"Are you sure?" Soap wanted to just confirm she was the one you saw.

"Yes Johnny. I think i'd definitely remember the face to the girl who fled Simon's room with her bra and underwear in her hands as she walked past me-"

That angered Soap to his core. In all his years he has known Ghost, he never thought Ghost was idiotic enough to do something so stupid, To hurt you in the process because he was yet again being a selfish bastard.

"Fuck Ghost." Soap then retorted, furrowing his brows. "You deserve the world and he is not the one that's going to give it to you." He finished, removing his hands from cupping your face. He took a small step back to give you some breathable space.

"It explains why he's been avoiding me..." you huffed, dropping your head to the ground. "He doesn't need me anymore.."

"I'm going to give him hell for hurting you. He's got it coming." Soap grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. The sound of the rain in the outside world filled the silence that lingered in the doorway between you two.

"I don't want to be alone right now Johnny..." you confessed, your hands coming together to fumble your fingers nervously.

"You aren't going to be, you get my bed, I'll borrow the Cot from Gaz. I'm not allowing you to be alone. Not going to happen, alright?" Soap ordered, grabbing your wrist to lead you carefully into his room. "You take a shower....." he continued, walking over to his drawers to grab you one of his lounge t-shirts and a pair of his sweats. "To wash it all away while I go get the cot, okay? Here are my clothes to change into when you're done"

You wanted to retaliate, complain that you were capable of going back to your room to get clothes but you didn't. You didn't have the energy, your nose was clogged, your head was pounding and your body ached. You just wanted to crawl under the damn covers and stay there for as long as you could.

You looked up at Soap and nodded your head with no following words. He then painted his face with a faint smile before letting go of your hand.

"I'm so sorry this is happening , Hen....." Soap apologized before taking his cue to let you shower and he'd take off to Gaz's room.

And that's what happened, you showered and Soap left the room. Once you had finished your shower, Soap had returned and shortly after you both went to sleep.

Morning had approached and Soap had woken up to get dressed before he had to supervise the recruits morning P.T.

"I know you're awake" Soap's voice echoed the stand still room, which caused you to roll over to face him. "You want to help me with P.T?"

"Help?" You furrowed brows confused. Soap then turned to look at you with a smirk on his face. That gave you all you needed to know. "Oh... okay.. yeah."

'What was he going to do?'

You had gotten dressed and met Soap out in the yard, standing in front of all the musty, dusty recruits who all wore black shirts with yellow words "army" plastered on the front. And next to Soap stood......

Ghost...

Your body froze slightly but you didn't make it noticeable and kept walking over slowly to where soap stood. Soap's body language was enough to see his livid he still was, his body angled away from Ghost's as obviously as he possibly could make it.

You halted to the right of soap, letting your eyes scan the recruits whose eyes were glued to the front of them.

Until your eyes scanned into hers.

That fucking recruit.

You felt your body heat up in a hint of anger but you broke your stare from hers to glance over at Soap who was glaring at Ghost.

"Well go on, Ghost. We don't have all day." Soap then retorted as he started to pace up and down the line of recruits, while Ghost spewed instructions.

"Am I clear?" Ghost boomed, keeping his head faced to the recruits, ignoring your presence.

"Yes sir" they all spoke in unison, before turning to walk towards the weight room where they were to conduct push-ups and sit-ups.

"All except you, Beckett." Soap suddenly spoke which stopped her in her tracks.

"Johnny?" Ghost asked raising his brows

"Beckett is falling behind, Ghost. Seems she's been a bit distracted lately. So I'll be doing a one on one with her today." Soap quickly shot back, not even sending Ghost a glance.

A low grumble escaped from Ghost's mask before he sent you a simple glare before following the other recruits to the weight room.

"Sir?" Beckett asked, in a confused tone.

"You're not focused on your job, now are you?" Soap asked, as he rounded to stand in front of her, his arms still crossed over his chest. "I do hope you know relationships with your higher ups are dually restricted." He suddenly blurted and you both watched her face fall, her skin going pale.

"I- i- don't know what youre talking about." She rebutted and a scoff left your mouth unintentionally. She shot you a hateful glare to where you merely stood at her, your face not even moving from its uninterested look.

"She's not talking to you. Is she? No. I am, and you will look at me until I am done speaking to you." Soap orders his tone cold. "Am I clear?"

"Sir, yes sir."
