Avoidance || Ghost/Soap x reader mini fic

Part 2.

You wanted nothing more than to run away, crawl into a hole and never leave it. The betrayal your heart ached with was horrid. You never understood the pain others went through when they were broken, now here you are breaking into a million pieces. Because you fell for someone who knew nothing but pain and whether he intended to or not, he inflicted pain on those around him.

Your vision was blurry, the tears building up in your eyes, falling down your cheek in ease. Your eyes avoided any eye contact with Ghost. There was no way you'd ever be able to look at him the same. Sure that may have been a silly thought at the moment but look where you both were. Outside his room after witnessing a recruit flee from his room, with her undergarments in her hand.

"Why?...." You pleaded out, watching your tears roll off your chin and onto the ground beneath you. "Damn it Ghost, why?!"

He said nothing

'Why was he saying nothing?' You screamed in your thoughts.

In reality, he couldn't give you a reason. Or a valid one at that. He didn't think of how his actions would affect you.

He didn't think at all

"I don't know." His voice was dry, empty but his eyes told a million other stories.

"You don't kn-? Are you fucking kidding me?!" You cried out, blinking a set of tears from your eyes. You then tried to jerk your arm from his grasp, but failed so miserably. "Let go-" you croaked out, fighting back the urge to not break down right there.

You continued to thrash and pull and fight your way from his grip, wanting to get as far away from him as you possibly could. You hated him.

No you didn't.

You couldn't even if you wanted to..

He kept his grasp on you tight but not enough to cause any discomfort, he let you flail, punch his chest, attempt to shove him, anything you did in that moment, he let you. He knew he failed you. He knew he broke your heart with his actions and there would never be enough to make up for an apology.

Ever.

"I'm sorry." He spoke, his voice audibly low. His comment caused you to furrow your brows in disbelief.

"You're sorry? You're sorry for sticking your dick in someone who wasn't me ? Wow-" you spat, shaking your head but he interrupted you after he left out a small growl of frustration.

"I was never yours." He barked back

'You were never mine...'

You stood there staring up at him. God it's like he was right but so wrong at the same time. It was at that moment, he let go of your arm.

You wanted to yell and scream but there were so many things holding you back from doing so. You stifled a sniffle, quickly wiping your eyes of the few tears that were dreadfully and slowly tearing down your face.

"Oh..." was all you could manage to push out in response. Everything felt so numb. Your body felt heavy, your mind felt empty, and your heart physically had an aching feeling. You turned your body around to drag your feet down the hall, not even bothering a second glance to Ghost.

"Wait-" his voice echoed behind you but you took no action to turn around and give him the time of day.

It wasn't until a long slow walk, that you found yourself outside Soap's door. You knocked almost quietly like you had no energy to want to guy the effort. And surely after a few minutes, Soap's door opened and there stood soap. He was sliding off his headset and his face fell from its small smile when he noticed your distraught face.

Seeing Soap's worried expression only encouraged your tears to flow. Your face fighting the urge to release it all. Your blurry eyes refused to break from Soap's.

"Lass? What happened?...." He asked, tossing his headset behind him before placing his hands on your shoulders, sinking to your level. His question only caused you to let out a devastated sob. You felt him hesitate before he moved his hands to cup your face, forcing you to look up at him.

His thumb wiping away your tears.

"Hey hey......hey..." his soft, Scottish voice corroded your ears, while he attempted to help you collect yourself. He then pulled you into a hg, wrapping his arms around you while you sobbed every bit of sadness out onto his shirt.

"I'm here...you're not alone..."
