"Uncle, that's too much!"
"You look handsome, my nephew!" Iroh pats down Zuko's outfit, smiling from ear to ear.
"Now, you better meet Nari and spend some time, Understood?"
"...Yes" Walking towards the front door he turns around to look at his uncle "Are you sure you won't come?"
"Yes, you two need to spend time, who knows you might get yourself a girlfriend" Iroh sang, happily. Too tired to argue, Zuko just waved bye and walked out.
He walked through the decorated roads, filled with all types of red, green and brown. Earth Kingdom colors. People danced and sang happily with their friends and family. It reminded him of his mom when she took him to the grand Fire Nation festivals, along with his sister and her friends, it was only once but he remembers the music, the smell and the beautiful colors of his home.
His thoughts come to a stop as he spots you on the other side of the road waving to him. "Lee!" your deep red hair was left open with a simple half bun at the very top, it reflected perfectly in the evening sun, just as your glowy brown skin did.
But the feature that Zuko just can't seem to get enough of was your eyes.
He saw his reflection, when your eyes met he saw himself. In a way it scared the prince, but the way the butterflies in his stomach were battling each other said otherwise.
As you approached the old man's nephew, your eyes trailed the traditional earth kingdom attire he wore, it was a match to his pale skin and black her. "I love your outfit, it matches you very well Lee" You say as you meet the man that you slightly hoped would come.
He softly smiles at you before muttering "yours too".
Looking around beside the well built man, you notice the absence of his uncle. "Where is Moshi?" you ask.
"My uncle wasn't feeling that well, so he stayed back"
"Oh, I hope he feels better soon." A silence forms between the both of you as you look around the bright festival-lighted place.
Your eyes land on you favorite dessert, a loud gasp escapes your mouth. "Look, they're some custard tarts!" Without a second thought, your hands embrace Lee's hand as you drag him along. Zuko felt himself almost stumble as the both of you fast-walk through the crowded alley. Muttering soft sorrys to people he bumps into. What seemed like an hour to Zuko, you two finally stop Infront of the food area.
Trying not to notice the coldness returning to your hands as you let go of his, you hand the cashier some money before taking the packet of the tarts. "Here, try some, my aunt used to always make this when I was kid, I can't believe I completely forgot about them," you said, slightly laughing as you handed Zuko one. "How is it?"
Zuko took a bite, as the warm creamy sweet flavor came into his mouth, he hummed slightly nodding. He wasn't a big sweet tooth, growing up in the Fire Nation and all, but maybe the atmosphere or perhaps you beside him made him want to have more sweets "can i have one more?"
You smile handing some more, as your eyes race around for other foods to taste.
Zuko followed along with you as you made him try different types of food, trying to ignore the way his cheeks grew red everytime you held him with your soft hands.
"How well can you handle your spice?" You ask, purchasing some flaming fire flakes.
He grinned "Very well"
"Oh? Not better than me though" You look up at him with a challenging smile.
"Definitely better than you, my lady" You don't miss the way your stomach flipped at what he called you.
