Catalina smiled as Tyler held her securely on his back, walking along the pier above the freezing lake. The loud fireworks were sprawled all out in the midnight sky. Lucy and Evan were on the porch swing talking to each other as the rest of the party in the house was screaming HAPPY 4TH OF JULY. Tyler let her down safely as he stared out at the fireworks while the colors danced on their face. Tyler wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her to the front while resting his head in the nape of her neck, Catalina shivered at his touch.

“Happy Anniversary, Cat!” Tyler whispered in her ear and kissed her cheek softly as the fireworks tired to cover the full moon.

Catalina laughed and made him wrap his arms tighter around her as the fog from the lake circles around them. “Happy Anniversary, Ty!”

In the distance, close to the house, there was a light howl and then a small yelp for help.

“Quiet down you Beast!”  Some guy at the party shouted from the bedroom window upstairs.

“Don’t kill him Beast!” Catalina smiled as she shouted at the house, knowing the beautiful beast would hear her.

“Sorry…I’ll keep it down. I couldn’t help it Cat…” Lucy said as her yelling faded away.

“Ouch! She bit me!” Evan yelped and then they heard shuffling and glass breaking.

Catalina laughed at her crazy best friend Lucy Johnson, also known as “Beast” because of her constant howling like a wolf and her aggressive attitude. At first she took it offensively, but later found it as a compliment so she rolled with it. Evan has always attempted to make her stop, but found that it made her all the more attractive. Tyler smiled down at Catalina and picked her up taking her back to the party. When they appeared out of the fog they found Lucy straddling Evan on the porch swing; guessing that the Beast won again.

“Enough with the bites Lulu…they are everywhere.” Evan had one hand rubbing his chest and the other on his neck. Tyler held Cat’s hand, making slow circles on the back.

“I don’t know man, but it’s okay because I love her.” Evan blushed slightly and kissed Lucy quickly as she smiled into the kiss.

Catalina’s hold on Tyler’s became tighter as she tugged him to follow her in the house so Lucy and Evan could have some privacy. Tyler and Cat joined the rest of their friends on the floor in the living room, it was quite crowded, but that’s what happens when you invite everybody from your school. Lucy and Evan came to join in as well, the music was blaring in everyone’s ears and the drinks were flowing at a stable pace. As the hours past and the sun was gradually rising most of the people grew tired and went home as the rest of them stayed.

Tyler woke up as someone was nudging him in the side. He fluttered his eyes open and came face to face with the legendary girl. He smiled slightly and was careful not to wake up Catalina, who was sleeping silently; he rubbed his tired eyes and looked around the room. People were crashed everywhere; the bar, the couch, no doubt the rooms upstairs, and a couple on the dining table. Tyler chuckled lowly and she smiled at him and gradually glared at Catalina, Tyler was oblivious to this, but not the playful look in her eyes.

“Morning, Tyler!” ZaZa chirped cheerfully.

Tyler shook his head at her sudden energy and not her hangover. Across the room Lucy rose off of a sleeping Evan and yawned loudly. Tyler chuckled and nodded at ZaZa as Lucy shoved Evan off of the couch, making him wake up by the loss of gravity. Evan fell to the floor with a thud and groaned, making the so-called “Beast”, jump off the couch to say sorry and check on her precious baby. Tyler rolled his eyes and sat up, successfully not waking up Catalina, when ZaZa said bye to some of her friends that were leaving.
