Anyone But You [PhayuRain] [Love In The Air]

16: MOMENTS

Phayu cleaned up, put on the fresh shirt that he had originally come in for, and fixed himself with his favorite products that were always kept on board for him.

He had to remember to thank his Assistant for always being so thorough and helpful.

He went back into the main cabin 10 minutes later and found Rain seated and chatting quite composedly with one of the flight attendants.

Damn! Look at this Rain. He was so calm and cool, with nerves of steel.

It was a good thing the flight attendants were ultimate professionals. Because it was probably quite obvious why they had disappeared together all that time. Phayu was pretty sure they were immune to many things  likely having seen it all while doing their jobs.

He took his seat.

"We will be landing in about 20 minutes Khun Phayu. Can I get you a beverage before we start making our descent?"

"No, thank you." He smiled politely back at her. He had nerves of steel too.

Rain handed his empty water glass to her and she returned to the galley to stow everything away and prepare for landing. He could feel Phayu's eyes on him. Well, the next few minutes were going to be awkward.

Phayu looked at Rain and deadpanned, "The service on this flight has really improved."

Rain's eyes flew to Phayu's in surprise. He burst out laughing as he caught Phayu's naughty reference. 

"Touché," Rain complimented. Looks like Phayu wasn't easily shaken either. He had forgotten how much fun they used to have during and after sex.

The awkwardness dissipated. 

Phayu joined in the tension-relieving laughter, pleased that Rain took his quip the way it was intended.

"Should I expect more... umm, surprises... like that on this trip?" Phayu said, eyes sparkling wickedly.

"Well, it wouldn't be a surprise if I said yes, would it?" Rain parried back smoothly, his brattiness peeking through.

Well, that wasn't a resounding YES, but it also wasn't a NO. Phayu couldn't help but be charmed by this naughty but poised Rain who could hold his own. He was worldly and sophisticated, but not jaded.

He just seemed comfortable in his skin. He wasn't embarrassed or making excuses for his actions or for doing what he wanted. Phayu couldn't help but admire this new side of him. Frankly, it was wildly sexy.

"But I wouldn't get used to anything if I were you. You know how service can be... great one day and terrible another," Rain couldn't help adding slyly.

"I'm pretty sure that even the terrible service would be pretty mind-blowing," Phayu pushed the envelope flirtatiously but with utter sincerity. 

He saw a little twitch lift the corners of Rain's lips.

"So, are you still game to show me around during our free time, since you are the expert having lived here for three years?" Phayu asked.

They had chatted earlier in the flight about the city but hadn't nailed anything specific down. Since Phayu was his client officially now and that was the goal of this trip, Rain had offered to show him around.

"So what have you already experienced here during your prior visits?" Rain asked since Phayu had mentioned he had been to Singapore before.

"Not much honestly. I have been here a few times, but only on business to visit our office. As CEO, I tend to get wined and dined in very fancy places and moved around in chauffeur-driven cars with other executives always in tow. And that's fine for getting business done, but I was hoping that we might play tourist and see some of the local sites. Maybe even walk around in some places?"
