Tom's P.O.V

I walked out of the meeting with a pile of binders and folders. The meeting lasted 3 hours. One of the yellow bases was blown up and attacked this morning. Both black and silver soldiers were seen near the Yellow Base, it's unclear what happened. "Sir, the general would like to speak to you privately."

I nodded and set the overwhelming pile of papers down. "General, I heard you wanted to see me?"

Another man stood behind the door alongside the general, "Blue Leader, I'd like to introduce you to General Hagan, he works in the 5th district. His family has served our army for generations and never failed us." He was a surprisingly young man, he was taller than me, fair-skinned, and had perfectly cut blonde hair.

I shook his hand as he smiled, "It's an honor to meet you sir, my condolences for the Red Leader. How is he, sir?"

I kept my expression, "He's doing better," I lied, "What brings you here?"

The general spoke up, "Since this has all happened in the fifth district and we have a base near there I think it is important for me to go there and serve. If that base is discovered a similar fate can fall on them. The base needs stronger leadership, and with your permission, I would like to be stationed there. The Red Leader needs to be protected in times like these, we cannot risk other armies coming onto any of our bases."

I thought for a moment, I grabbed one of the binders and flipped to our base in district six. He was right, it wasn't super close but it was too close for comfort. General Gregory has a point, "General, take care of that base and its soldiers. I want updates every day."

"Yes sir, thank you Blue Leader. In my place, I've selected General Hagan. I know he looks young but he has been the best leader yet and on his way to surpass me."

"I trust your judgment. I'll set up a helicopter immediately, and be ready in three hours." I turn to Blondey, "You need to go get updated and hold a briefing with the squadron leaders. I have other things to attend to." I walked out of the room and Paul walked past me, "Pat and I are going to take a team and scout out the north end of our district. We've heard rumors of people around there. Are you sure you can take care of everything?"

"Come'on Paul, I've got this." I wink. Patryck brought out the files I forgot in the room, "Oh yeah, I was uh just gonna grab those."

Paul chuckles at my lie, "Don't worry, Tyler will be assisting you and we've already taken care of all your homework. While we're gone you should finally be free." He looked at Paul the back at me, "Are you sure you are going to be okay with him?"

"Hey," I smile at them both, "I've got this, nothing is going to happen while you're gone. Be safe you guys."

They hug me, "Thank you, Tom, take care of my kiddo." Paul sighs, and Patryck encourages him to follow him. They both disappeared down the hallway. I checked my watch, "Just a little longer then I'll call you princess." I remind myself.

My foot tapped the floor before I finally turned down the opposite end. I knocked not expecting a reply and of course, I didn't get one. I opened the door and walked in, I put my back against the wall and crossed my arms. "You know the food is there for you to eat right?" Plate after plate sat on his table. His back was to me as he sat at his desk tools scattered on the top. He was working on his arm. He was always working on his arm.

"I'm busy," he dully mumbled.

I laughed and walked over, "Oh are you Red? Cuz you're always busy doing that." I throw back.

He groans, "Leave me alone."

"No can do, besides in case you haven't got the memo I'm kinda in charge." I walk around his desk and look down at him, he ignores me. "So you actually have to listen to me."
