| California |
| FOUR YEARS LATER |

Jungkook hastened back to his abode, after a rigorous hour-long jog through the verdant park. His physique was drenched in perspiration and his breaths were somewhat labored.

He strode into his residence, which was neither grandiose nor diminutive.

Following the tumultuous Taehyung episode that transpired four years ago, and Taehyung's subsequent jailbreak a year later, Jungkook and his friends were consumed with trepidation. They deemed it prudent for Jungkook to relocate to another country, for they knew that Taehyung would return with a vengeance, and would either pursue Jungkook once more, or worse yet, attempt to exact revenge by taking his life.

Thus, to avert such a calamity, Jungkook now resided in California, basking in the halcyon days of his life. His five friends remained in Seoul, but they visited him periodically, and tended to his property in South Korea.

Despite his newfound sanctuary, Jungkook was plagued by a sense of being shadowed and stalked, and the specter of Taehyung's wrath lingered. It was an inescapable facet of his existence, one that he had to endure.

Perhaps, he would have to reconcile himself to this perpetual unease. Nevertheless, his relocation to California had enabled him to move on from Taehyung, even though he still pondered on his whereabouts and his current state of mind. Had he renounced his psychopathic tendencies and embraced normalcy? Or had he continued on his path of destruction?

Jungkook shut the door of his residence with a resounding thud, the sound echoing through the grand foyer. He made his way toward the kitchen, the heart of his luxurious home, where he opened the gleaming fridge and retrieved a bottle of crystal-clear water. He took a long, refreshing sip, relishing the coolness of the liquid as it flowed down his throat.

This was home.

Jungkook had finally found the one person who loved him for who he was, and that was all he had ever wanted. His life was now complete, and he had even given up his studies to pursue a more normal existence, one where he could live like any other man in his twenties, without the burden of his immense wealth.

Today, he had an interview with a prestigious company, and he could only hope to secure the position. He fretted nervously, his mind racing with thoughts of what could be.

As he placed the cap back on the bottle and set it down on the gleaming counter, he heard the doorbell ring. He made his way to the door, his heart pounding with anticipation.

To his surprise, there was no one there, but he noticed an envelope lying on the doorstep. He picked it up, examining it closely, but there was no name or address on it. He shrugged and headed back inside, tearing open the envelope to reveal a letter inside.

With a swift motion, he eagerly tore asunder the delicate envelope, revealing a treasure nestled within its confines. Jungkook's fingers delicately unfolded the parchment, his eyes tracing the elegant script that adorned its surface.

Did you truly believe, Kim Jungkook, that I would relinquish you so effortlessly?

The words danced before his eyes, captivating his attention and leaving him spellbound.

A surge of emotions coursed through his veins, causing his eyes to widen in astonishment and his lips to part in awe. His heart, once steady, now quickened its rhythm, matching the fervor of his breaths as they grew shallow and unsteady.

Intrigued by an inexplicable intuition, Jungkook's curiosity compelled him to delve further into the depths of the envelope. And there, nestled amidst the folds of opulence, lay a resplendent golden ring. A ring that bore witness to a sacred bond.

Jungkook's wedding ring.

Jungkook, on the precipice of tears, let out a resounding cry. "KY!" In a matter of moments, his beloved boyfriend descended from the upper echelons of their residence, enfolding him in a tender embrace.

Their courtship had flourished for a span of two years, an enchanting tale that had seemingly materialized out of thin air. Their friendship had metamorphozed into an ardent love, akin to the blossoming of flowers in the vernal embrace following a harsh winter.

Though Jungkook harbored a modicum of remorse for spurning Yoongi's confession three years prior, such matters were now beyond his control. His heart did not resonate with Yoongi as it did with Ky.

"What's wrong, Jungkook?" Ky asked, his voice tinged with worry as he watched Jungkook's trembling form. He tenderly caressed Jungkook's back, seeking solace in his touch.

Jungkook, his sobs reverberating, reluctantly disentangled himself from the embrace, allowing Ky to gently wipe away his tears with his thumbs. "He's returned," Jungkook cried out, revealing the ominous ring and accompanying letter. "He... he will get me!" Jungkook's voice quivered, prompting Ky to enfold him once more.

"Don't worry, my love. I won't let him hurt you," Ky whispered softly, tightening his embrace. "And you're a strong boy, right? You successfully put him behind bars, don't be afraid now, baby." Ky's voice remained soothing as he reassured Jungkook, who nodded in agreement.

"You have an interview in a mere hour. Prepare yourself for it. I'll contact the others and ask them to help us out," Ky said, breaking the embrace to plant a tender kiss upon Jungkook's forehead.

"I-I'm scared to go alone- c-can you come with me?" Jungkook choked on his words, his voice laced with vulnerability. Ky's countenance brightened with a smile. "Of course. Now let's get you ready first and then have breakfast." Ky's words dripped with sweetness, eliciting a nod of gratitude from Jungkook.

The couple prepared themselves for the day ahead, ensuring every detail of their appearance exuded sophistication. With a hint of trepidation, Jungkook clung to his partner, fearing the presence of Taehyung lurking nearby, relentlessly searching for him.

"Could you accompany me inside?" Jungkook pleaded, his lips forming a delicate pout, while Ky chuckled softly. "You are the one who will be interviewed, Jungkook, not me," he snickered, amused by the request.

"Please, just stay until the interview starts," Jungkook said, tugging Ky into the room where an employee informed them that the CEO would soon arrive.

"Woah- this is truly huge." Jungkook said in awe, his gaze sweeping across the room. Through the expansive windows, he could behold the entire city, and he heard Ky emit a gentle giggle from behind.

"Do you know what else is huge?" Ky smirked, drawing nearer and encircling Jungkook's waist with his hands.

Jungkook giggled, clutching his file. "Indeed, I do," Jungkook murmured, then tenderly kissed the tip of Ky's nose.

"My intellect, perhaps?" Jungkook playfully raised an eyebrow, before gasping dramatically. "Wait, not here—anyone could enter." Jungkook babbled as he noticed Ky inching their lips closer, his grip on Jungkook's waist tightening.

Their lips met, as did their tongues, and Jungkook surrendered himself completely to the passionate embrace, his hands finding solace on Ky's shoulders.

"Oh." They heard a voice, causing them to momentarily break away from their kiss. "Sorry for the inconvenience and for intruding on your private time, but this office room is mine." The voice said - very calm and low.
