Jungkook let out a frustrated sigh as he switched off his cellphone and tossed it onto his bed. Taehyung's incessant calls were starting to get on his nerves.
As evening fell, Jungkook sought refuge in his parents' mansion, deliberately avoiding Taehyung. Jungkook couldn't help but feel foolish. Sure, he knew he was overreacting, but can you really blame him? His crush had been toying with his emotions, and now he didn't know what to do.
Jungkook's mother's gentle voice filled the room as she entered, carrying a tray with his mango juice. "Here's your mango juice," Mrs. Jeon said softly, placing it on the nightstand.
Jungkook groaned, burying his head in his hands. His mother sat down beside him, running her fingers through his fluffy hair. "What's wrong?" Mrs. Jeon asked in a caring tone. Jungkook shook his head.
"It's nothing," Jungkook mumbled, getting up and grabbing the glass of juice to take a sip.
"Something is certainly bothering you, Jungkook. I'm your mother, and I know you better than anyone else in this world." She said softly and Jungkook let out an ironic snicker, humming. "So, what's wrong?" Mrs. Jeon repeated the question.
Jungkook inhaled a deep breath, unsure if he should her or not. "I-it's about Taehyung. I see him more than only my bodyguard- actually, I like him. But I don't think he likes me back..." Jungkook concluded in a small voice and the woman frowned.
"You like your what?" She asked and then Jungkook dropped the glass from his hands and the woman flinched when they heard a very loud noise ringing into the mansion.
A gunshot.
Both of them widened their eyes and Jungkook's heartbeats were at an abnormal velocity and he felt goosebumps all over his whole body.
"W-where's dad?" Jungkook gulped and the woman felt her breaths being taken away.
"He's downstairs... Oh god. I will go and check. Stay here," Mrs. Jeon stammered, on the verge of tears. Jungkook nodded sadly, already crying.
Jungkook whispered in a small voice, "Please, be safe."
With trembling steps, the woman left Jungkook's room. As she reached the bottom of the stairs, her eyes widened in horror. Tears streamed down her face as she saw a group of men dressed in black suits, their faces hidden by masks, bandanas, and even motorcycle helmets. One of the men had a gun pointed at her husband, who cowered in fear, face covered in black mask.
Overwhelmed with grief, Mrs. Jeon cried out and rushed downstairs, desperate to save her husband's life. All of the men turned to look at her, taking in her distressed state.
"Please, release him! I will give you anything you want. Please, don't hurt him!" She pleaded, falling to her knees and grasping the man's feet. The man removed the gun from Mr. Jeon's head and stared down at the woman, plopping the dark sunglasses on top of his head.
"Anything?"The man said, a mischievous tone lacing his voice as he surveyed his comrades. "Did you not hear her? She said anything."The man began, lowering his voice and forcefully pushing the woman away from him.
"Go and find her son. He must be upstairs now." He growled, voice deepening, and Mrs. Jeon had her eyes widened. Mr. Jeon gritted his teeth in anger. Three of the men nodded and made their way up the stairs.
"N-no- not him! Please, spare him!" Even Mr. Jeon fell to his knees, pleading for mercy. "I will give you all of my wealth- just spare my son!" Mr. Jeon sobbed, only to be met with laughter from the menacing figures before him.
"Well, well! Won't your wealth be ours anyway once I marry your son, hmm?"
"Let me go! What the hell!" Jungkook squealed as the men forcefully dragged him downstairs. One of the men promptly slapped him, making tears well up in his eyes. But his tears turned to screams as he witnessed a bullet piercing the forehead of the man who had just struck him, silencing him forever.
"Jungkook, are you alright?" A strangely familiar voice asked.
Jungkook gulped hard, feeling a lump form in his throat, as he continued to gaze at the group of men. Jungkook couldn't pinpoint which one had spoken, but he was certain he recognized the voice.
It was the voice of his former boyfriend.
"Ky?! What on earth are you doing here? And why are you involved in all of this?!" Jungkook exclaimed loudly, his eyes widening in disbelief. He was forcefully pulled forward once again and forced to stand beside his parents.
His heart shattered into countless pieces, prompting Jungkook to quickly drop to his knees and embrace his parents tightly, letting out sobs. They returned the embrace, tears streaming down their faces as well.
The ex-boyfriend, with his brown hair, removed his helmet and flashed Jungkook a sly grin, to which Jungkook responded with a glare.
"Why are you doing this? What do you want from me? Just leave us alone!" Jungkook said, his breaths coming in heavy gasps. "And why do you have guns? I don't understand anything!" Jungkook snapped, frustration evident in his voice.
The boy chuckled in response. "Listen, pretty thing. If you want your parents to stay alive and safe, stop complaining and follow our orders. What do you think about that?" Ky taunted, causing Jungkook to spit in disgust.
"Why should I listen to you? Leave us alone and find someone else to bother!" Jungkook brushed away his tears, trying to calm his breathing.
Please, god... Taehyung, hurry and save us.
Jungkook felt incredibly foolish for avoiding Taehyung all day and not letting him know where he was. If Taehyung had been present, everything would have been alright, and Jungkook and his family wouldn't have found themselves in this situation. Taehyung would have protected all three of them.
Suddenly, the doors of the mansion swung open, revealing a boy covered in bandages. A voice called out, demanding to know what was happening.
"Kevin, please, save us-" the woman began to plead, but before she could finish, one of the men loaded all the bullets from the gun onto Kevin's body. Blood flowed, and Kevin's lifeless body collapsed to the ground.
The man then discarded the empty gun and seized a weapon from one of the men standing nearby. He aimed at Jungkook's parents. Their blood sprayed all over Jungkook. The young boy's eyes widened in terror, his mouth agape.
Leaning in close to the brown-haired boy's ear, the man whispered something, prompting the boy to laugh and nod in agreement.
"Take Jungkook to the car," commanded the brown-haired boy as several men forcefully removed Jungkook's paralyzed body from the scene.
"Ensure that every trace of this chaos is cleaned up. I don't want to see a single drop of blood, or else I won't hesitate to bury all of you," the man declared, surveying the lifeless bodies he had shot before departing.
Ky walked alongside him, a smirk appearing on his face, and together they casually kicked Kevin's lifeless body as they exited.
...Was Jungkook just abducted? Absolutely.
