Holding On // Jack Gilinksy

Chapter 4

We arrived at the train station and Claire stood beside me the whole time, I could tell she was still uneasy but I tried to look past it. The Jacks are probably just trying to make friends since they're both going to college here in Paris, but little do they know Claire is going to the states and I'm going to England for college. Sooner or later we'll have to leave.

I was looking around when I saw Gilinsky standing by himself making me wonder where Johnson was but either way he was lonely so I grabbed Claire's elbow and lead her to where Gilinsky was standing.

When he turned around and saw us standing by him he seem startled but his facial features relaxed once he got used to our unexpected presence.

" Where are we going in Italy?" Claire asked him, I was wondering that too and I kind of concluded it was going to be some place basic like the Colosseum in Rome or David the statue.

" We're going to Florence to go see Galileo's middle finger." He stated casually, there was a strange moment of silence following after that. Claire walked away to stand by a corner and she started laughing like a maniac and I giggled because we got ourselves into this strange mess.

Johnson came back and was confused as to why Claire was laughing in a corner all by herself.

" Gilinksy said that we were going to Florence to visit Galileo's middle finger." I explained to Johnson, causing him to roll his eyes in a playful manner.

Our train finally came and Claire came back to join us after what seemed like ages of her laughing to herself.

I took a seat in the train and looked out the window, I was kind of bummed because it was dark outside and I couldn't see the landscape as we passed.

Gilinsky sat next to me while Claire sat with Johnson right in front of us and I took out my phone but Jack took it out of my hands before I could turn it on.

" No phones. No technology. This trip is to bond because I really want to be your friend." He told me while he put my phone in his back pocket. I smirked at him and rolled my eyes.

" Fine. But what if someone important calls me? Like my parents or something what do I do?" I asked him, and then it just hit me that I forgot to tell my dad that I was hanging out with the Jacks and Claire on a trip to fucking Italy.

" Actually speaking of which I need my phone right now." I told Jack while I tried to get my phone out of his back pocket which was extremely awkward since I was touching his butt.

" Stop making an excuse to touch my butt Audrey." Jack chuckled and I sighed heavily, throwing my head back against the seat.

" I need to tell my dad where I'm going to be so I won't get in trouble for being dishonest." I explained to him and he inspected my eyes and lips.

" Stop staring."

" I'm checking to see if you're lying or not! Which by your facial expression I can tell you're not so here you go." Jack pulled out my phone from his pocket and gave it back to me.

I dialed my dads number on my phone and he picked up at the third ring.

" Hey dad I just wanted to say that I'm going to be in Italy with Claire and the Jacks if that's okay with you. I'll be home tomorrow." I tell him, there's a dead silence and I bite my lip in anticipation for what he'll say.

" Just be careful please. And make sure those boys don't try to do anything and stay with Claire at all times. Love you I'll talk to you later Audrey. " He responded, making me sigh in relief for his approval. I hung up and gave Jack my phone.
