Four days had passed since Jack's departure, and the longing in Emma's heart had grown with each passing hour. She had taken a half day off, her excitement tangible as she prepared to welcome Jack back. The plane landed at 13:06, and there she stood at the airport, her heart racing in anticipation. As Jack emerged from the gate, her eyes locked onto him, and without a second thought, she rushed into his waiting arms.
"I missed you so much," Emma exclaimed, her voice a mix of laughter and relief as she embraced him tightly.
Jack laughed, his arms encircling her. "I missed you too, baby," he confessed, his voice carrying the sincerity of his words.
"Come on, let's go home," Emma suggested, her hand slipping into his as they walked away from the bustling airport.
Back at Jack's house, he disappeared to get comfortable while Emma browsed through his collection of movies. When Jack returned with a tray of snacks, she held up SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.
He settled on the sofa, pulling Emma close to his side. The movie began its introduction, and as the room was bathed in the soft glow of the screen, Emma looked up at Jack, her eyes filled with curiosity. "How did your meeting go?" she inquired, her voice soft.
"It went better than I expected," Jack replied, his gaze fixed on her, a gentle smile tugging at his lips. He leaned down, planting a tender kiss on her lips.
They continued to watch the movie, wrapped in each other's presence, the comfort of their togetherness a balm to their souls. As the credits rolled, Emma stood up and stretched, a contented yawn escaping her lips. "It was a good movie," she remarked.
Jack nodded in agreement. "Yep, it sure was." He got up, his movements fluid, and walked toward Emma.
"Come on, let's hit the bed," he suggested, a playful glint in his eyes. "Both of us are exhausted."
Emma allowed herself to be led into Jack's room, her heart fluttering with a mix of emotions. Just being in his space invoked a sense of intimacy and familiarity. She couldn't help but blush, the memories of their shared moments flooding her thoughts.
Jack noticed her flushed cheeks and grinned. He tugged her gently, drawing her closer to the bed. Without hesitation, he leaned down, his lips capturing hers in a passionate kiss, the intensity of his emotions pouring into the connection.
But as the heat of the moment intensified, Emma's hand pressed against Jack's chest, gently pushing him away. "Not today," she murmured, her voice teasing, her gaze playful.
With a smile, she maneuvered herself on top of him, her eyes locked onto his. "You're exhausted today," she teased, her fingers tracing patterns on his chest.
Jack's laughter was warm, his eyes filled with adoration as he looked at her. He leaned up, his lips seeking hers in one final, tender kiss before allowing himself to fall back onto the bed.
"Ur exhausted today," Emma mimicked, a grin tugging at her lips. She leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead before settling beside him.
In the quiet embrace of the room, they found solace in each other's presence. The shadows of the day were cast aside, replaced by the lightness of shared laughter and unspoken promises. As they settled in, their breathing synchronizing, the world outside faded away, leaving only the tender symphony of their hearts, beating in harmony.
And in the sanctuary of that moment, Jack and Emma allowed the sweet embrace of sleep to carry them away, their dreams interwoven with the threads of their love.
