Rhaegar's Pov,

The Next Day.

"I loved her. She made a man of me. I do not seek to replace you, child. You’ve been much alone these last few years. Alone and angry.
I will not live forever. I wish to see you and Rhaegar contented, happy even." The voice of father says as I walk into the meeting room with my spear.

"You think a man will do it?" Nyra says from her chair, and I shake my head.

"A family"

"We had a family." I bite as I continue to walk over, and now well, his eyes dart between the two of us.

"What would you have me do?!" He loudly says with waving hands.

"Marry Rhaenyra to me, keep the blood pure. You'll stop getting proposals." I simply say, and he shakes his head.

"No."

"No? You've been talking about us both having to get wed for years now, and I wish to wed Rhaenyra, you say no?"

"You'll need alliances and support Rhaegar."

"If it was for advantage, you would’ve wed Laena Velaryon!" Nyra bites his way, and I raise my brow.

"That is true enough." He beginning before his eyes move towards me

"You must marry, strengthen your own claim, shore up your succession, multiply." He continues, and I shake my head.

"And I wish to marry Rhaenyra what's the use of me being a prince or even the fucking heir of the Iron Throne when I can't even chose my own wife?" I say with a shake of my head.

"And I've said no, Rhaenyra, you'll go on a royal tour. Seek our your match, make him your own. Rhaegar, you'll stay here. Many lords are traveling this way, with their daughters, you'll have a choice in who you'll marry, but it won't be Rhaenyra."

"Bu-" Nyra starts before She's cut off by father.

"I said no!  Now go get ready."

Seeing her stand up with almost impossible to see tears in her eyes she quickly walks out the room making me release a heavy sigh as I place the spear on the table.

"Why must everything with the both of you be a battle?" He breaths out as he leans his hands on the table.

"Could ask  you the same, you wish for us both to marry I ask you to let me marry Rhaenyra and you say no. But I'm not here to argue with you right  now, what did the prophecy on the dagger mean?" I ask him as I place my hands behind my back.

"I'll answer one of your questions if you'll answer one of mine." He simply states, and I give him a shrug.

"Fine, you may start your grace."

"Where have you been the last years?" He asks and I take one of the cups from the table before putting some whine in it.

"East mainly."

'Wh-" He starts but I cut him off.

"No I awsnered now it's my turn, who did the dagger belong to?" I state and he takes if out before laying it on the table.

"That dagger once belonged to Aegon the Conqueror. It was Aenar's before that. And before that... it is difficult to know. Before Aegon's death, the last of the Valyrian pyromancers hid his song in the steel." He awnsers and I shake my head.

"The-" I now start before he cuts me off.

"Where east have you been, and not north south east or west nonsense. I want locations Rhaegar."
