"Canada's crying."

Russia stared blankly ahead at the cafeteria wall for a moment before turning towards the voice that spoke to him. There stood Netherlands and Ukraine, two of Canada's best friends.

Besides himself, Russia absentmindedly hoped.

"So?" He deadpanned, glancing at his friend group before looking back down at the two countries that had approached him.
Belarus and Kazakhstan were simply talking to each other with excited looks on their faces. They likely didn't even notice Netherlands and Ukraine, at least Russia wouldn't put it past them to do so.

Ukraine looked slightly nervous, edging behind Netherlands as her nails dug into her arm, while the other was almost just as neutral as he was.

"..So, you know how to make her feel better." Netherlands said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Which, it sort of was to Russia. If he had known that Canada was crying before the two dumbasses in front of him had said anything, he'd already be gone to look for her.

"Why can't Australia do it? He knows how."

The two glanced at eachother for a moment.
"He's busy."

"Well, so am I."

"I'll watch your food."
Russia glared at China, who had initially made the offer. He knew that she'd likely steal something as a "payment" for her service, though.

She just stared at him with a knowing, yet discreet, grin.

"This should really be your job, y'know." He said to Netherlands and Ukraine, averting his eyes from the knowing gaze of China.

Still, with that said, he got up from his seat. "Where is she?"

"Outside." Was all Netherlands said.

Russia rolled his eyes, mumbling, "Wow, so helpful," under his breath. He picked up his backpack and walked off, soon exiting the cafeteria to the halls.

[my hs doesn't have lockers im just projecting]

He walked carefully, avoiding any faculty he had happened to see before they saw him. Nobody was allowed to be outside of the cafeteria during lunch, and he didn't really feel like earning more detention.

As he walked, Russia wondered why Canada was crying. Sure, she did it a lot, but the reasons were.. usually good.

He had sort of played it up earlier, with the whole 'not wanting to comfort Canada' thing. Canada was cool. He just hated her friends, and liked them to know that whenever possible.

Still, it was sort of intruding on his time. But he didn't mind. It was for Canada.

In a normal way.
In an "I 100% don't feel like I ate 20 butterflies and now I want to rip my stomach out because you smiled at me" way.

Russia didn't have anything to hide.

Not much, anyways.

Before he knew it, he was in front of the school. Netherlands wasn't exactly specific when he told him where to look, but Russia had a feeling he already knew where Canada might be.

Glancing around, he spotted the familiar tree that Canada was so infatuated with. He didn't really get it, as it was just a small tree, but he'd still support Canada in even her strangest of delusions. (Or, atleast be there for her.)
Which, this was not one of them, actually. There was that time she truly believed that her lampshades were plotting against her, and she nearly burnt her house down trying to get rid of them.
