"I'm sorry, this was my mistake." Suguru mumbled, sighing as he took accountability for his mistake, though no one else blamed him.

The four of them stood in an alley, the news of Kuroi getting kidnapped dampening the mood. Riko was safe, so that was something, but they couldn't leave Kuroi, Kimiko knew that at least.

"Really?" Satoru cocked a brow before turning to Riko and Kimiko who were stood side by side, Kimiko attempting to comfort her. "I don't think this even counts as a mistake."

"I underestimated how much our enemies would value Kuroi-san." Suguru explained, clearly disappointed in himself despite how much Kimiko had tried to convince him otherwise.

The situation wasn't anything close to okay, but for some reason, Kimiko knew deep down that they would be able to save Kuroi with little to no problems. Suguru and Satoru were the strongest, and she wasn't far behind them. No matter how hard it would be, they would be able to do it, she truly believed that.

"Their next move will probably be offering to arrange an exchange for her." Satoru deciphered, causing Riko to stiffen up. "Something like trading Amanai for Kuroi-san, or saying they will kill Kuroi-san if we don't kill Amanai. But we have the leverage in any negotiations since we have Amanai. As long as they set up the location for the deal, we can make it work out. I'm taking Amanai back to Jujutsu High now. We can have Kimiko or Shoko stand in as her body double."

Before Kimiko could speak up, Riko beat her to it, jumping to her feet in desperation.

"Wait! I'm going to this deal too! I still can't trust you all yet!"

"Huh!? You're still saying that after all this, you-"

"Even if you do manage to save her." Riko cut off Satoru, her hands clenched into fists by her side. "What if Kuroi isn't back before I assimilate with Tengen-Sama? I haven't-" She grabbed onto her skirt, scrunching it up with her whole body tensed, her eyes beginning to water which grabbed Kimiko's attention. "I haven't even said goodbye to her!"

The silence after was deafening, the reality of what was happening had began to set in, at least with Kimiko. She almost had forgotten that Riko would be gone, her strong feelings towards Kuroi making it that much more heartbreaking.

Kimiko glanced over at the two boys, who looked sympathetic, but still unsure.

She didn't hesitate this time to speak up, "We will be fine, Riko is right, she needs to come with us to save Kuroi."

Her words made both Suguru and Satoru rise her brows in questioning, though Satoru looked much more open to it.

Refusing to back down, Kimiko grabbed onto Riko's hand in protest as she hardened her gaze, standing her ground for the girl next to her who she barely even knew.

"There's no arguement, we are doing it."

After a few seconds of silence, Satoru was the first to nod, one of the corners of his lips turning upwards slightly as he met Kimiko's eyes before turning his attention to Riko, a graceful smile overtaking her face.

"Right." Suguru eventually agreed, which meant that the plan was on.

The kidnappers designated Okinawa as the location for the exchange, not that it was actually going to happen, but they had to make them believe it was.

Though it did mean that they would have to travel there, which they decided to do by plane since it was much safer. Satoru could make sure that it was safe with his eyes, Suguru could have one of his Shikigami's fly next to them and Kimiko could place her mirrors around the plane since only those who could see curses could see them and use them.
