Jack of Diamonds drags Red and Quinn by their arms into the palace. He shoves them in front of their mother's throne, bowing down.
"She was singing in the forest about it being the 'Rise of Red'" the Guard reports.
"I was handling it, Little Diamond, you didn't have to-" Quinn rolled his eyes as he stood and faced the Captain of the Guards.
"SILENCE!" The Queen shouts, gagging both of them. "Begone" she waves to Jack and he obeys. She then turns to her daughter, who already stood up, looking at her daughter, who was already standing. "Again, Red? Another of your foolish concerts?"
"Ha, You're just mad I won't let you in my band!"
"Please! When are you gonna do something useful to me? Something that happens."
"Okay, Mom, believe it or not, you're not the only thing that matters in the world" Red rolls her eyes.
"HA! Now that! THAT is mad" The Queen laughs. "I AM the ONLY thing that matters. And soon the world will see that."
"And how do you plan on doing that?" Quinn asks, crossing his arms.
"..."
"She doesn't know."
"QUIET, you USLESS servants!"
"Mom, we're your kids."
"Hmm...not hearing much of a difference."
"Whatever," Red rolls her eyes. "I gotta head to class. Or should I call it, Maddox's room?" Since the Barrier was brought down, The Queen pulled Red out of Auradon Prep, and Maddox Hatter, Mad Hatter's inquisitive and irrepressibly curious son, became her tutor.
"RED! DON'T WALK AWAY FROM ME!"
"And yet, I am."
"Yeah, I'm out too" Quinn already graduated from school so he had no reason to stay in the Castle. And if there was no reason, he was out of there.
"Ugh, is every Villain's child failing them?" The Queen rubs her head and she sits back on her throne.
As Red walks through the halls, she gets lost in thought. Her mother always tried to control her, she knew she couldn't escape her on the Isle and now that she was off, she thought she'd be able to get away from her, but she was still stuck in her grasp. Red had been in a constant struggle to find her own Independence and free herself from her mother's reign over her. She's tired of being told how to live her life.
He opens the door to Maddox's "Mad Lab" doors and finds him working on more inventions. He was not only Red's tutor but the Royal inventor-in-chief for the Queen of Hearts. Everything he made had a magical quality. His hats could create portals, his tea cups could enlarge and be used as vehicles, and even a key that could unlock any door!
Anything is possible in Wonderland.
