Two weeks after that talk, the hockey team and the cheerleader team are having a party in the famous Bliss hotel.

the renowned Bliss Hotel was humming with the excited chatter and laughter resonating from an exclusive party held in its opulent grand hall. The New Jersey Devils had just crushed their rivals the hurricanes in a game that had everyone on the edge of their seats, and what better way to celebrate than a lavish bash in one of the state's finest hotels.

The spotlight was on the hockey team and their cheerleaders, who were the heart and soul of the celebration.

The room was beautifully adorned with a tasteful blend of red and black decorations, symbolizing the fierce spirit of the Devils. The golden chandeliers cast a warm glow over the guests, creating a mesmerizing ambiance that seemed to enchant everyone present.

As the night swooned over the grand hall of Bliss Hotel, the laughter and cheers echoed through the high ceilings. Y/N was not a fan of large crowds, but as the new face of the cheerleader team sometimes she had to step out of her comfort zone.

Amid the crowd, she spotted Jack Hughes, the youngest player on the team, weaving his way towards her. His reputation as a flirty, charming skater preceded him.

As he approached, his grin was confident, eyes twinkling under the ornate chandeliers. "Hello there, Y/N?" he said smoothly. "Enjoying the evening?"

She gave him a polite smile, "Oh, it's been quite lovely, thank you."

He took a step closer, casually leaning against the wall an resting his arm over her shoulder. "You know, Y:N, I have always found numbers intriguing, especially when they are managed by someone as captivating as you."

Y/N rolled her eyes inwardly but maintained her polite demeanor. "Well, the numbers are much less complicated than they seem, Jack."

Undeterred, he continued, "I could show you some moves on the ice, you know. Maybe you'd find that a bit less... complicated."

She chuckled at his attempt. "I appreciate the offer, Jack. But, I prefer my ground solid and not slippery."

He smiled, a playful glint in his eyes. "Ah, a challenge, I like that. But I assure you, the ice has a charm that's hard to resist, much like the allure of a good challenge," he said, subtly hinting at the casual spar of words between them.

Y/N decided to steer the conversation away from flirtatious waters, "The team played well today. You must all be very proud."

Catching onto her change of topic, he nodded, "Yes, we are. It's a collective effort."

She gave him a courteous nod, "Well, congratulations on your win. It was well deserved."

He gave her a charming smile, one last attempt to spark a flirtatious reaction, "Thank you, Y/N. Maybe someday you'll let me show you the magic of ice."

Just then, Nico Hischier, the reserved yet well-respected player on the team, approached them, his face showing a hint of discomfort with the growing flirtatious tension between Y/N and Jack.

"Jack, coach is looking for you," Nico said, though his eyes were fixed on Y/N with a gentle warmth in them. But when he met the eyes of Jack, his gaze was cold.

"Oh, is he?" Jack glanced at Nico, catching the unspoken concern in his eyes. "Alright then, I'll head that way." And he left right away

Nico turned to you, "I hope you're enjoying the evening, Y/N."

She smiled genuinely, feeling a subtle comfort with Nico's presence. "Yes, it's been interesting, to say the least."

Nico chuckled softly. "Perhaps I could offer you a quieter company, away from the flirty forwards?"

Y/N giggled at his comment, appreciating the humor and the thoughtful gesture. "That sounds nice, Nico."

And with a shared smile, they moved towards a quieter corner of the hall, leaving a slightly baffled Jack watching them as they walked away.

In the cozy corner of the grand hall, away from the bustling crowd and the playful flirtations of the hockey players, Y/N and Nico found themselves engrossed in a genuine conversation.

Y/N, curious about the underlying tone of Nico's interruption earlier, decided to broach the subject. With a teasing glint in her eyes, she asked, "Nico, you seemed a bit protective back there. Jealous, maybe?"

Nico's normally composed demeanor wavered for a moment as he chuckled, a faint blush gracing his cheeks. "Well, maybe just a tad. Jack can be quite the charmer, you know."

Y/N grinned, her teasing tone softening into sincerity. "You know, you don't have to worry about Jack. We were just having a friendly chat."

Nico's warm smile returned. "I know, Y/N. It's just that... well, I've seen how some of these guys can be, and you deserve someone who appreciates your intelligence and charm."

Y/N's heart skipped a beat at Nico's words. She hadn't expected such a genuine and thoughtful response. "Thank you, Nico. That means a lot to me."

As Y/N and Nico's conversation deepened, their connection became increasingly palpable. The cozy corner of the hall seemed like their own private world, hiding from the festivities around them.

Right when Y/N was about to start over a new topic, Nico's eyes met her's, and the intensity of the moment hung in the air. Without a word, he leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss that was both assertive and tender, a reflection of the emotions that had been building between them all night.

The world around them seemed to fade into the background as they shared a passionate kiss, their feelings pouring into the moment. Y/N responded with equal fervor, her heart racing as their lips moved in harmony. He slide his hand on the back of her neck to keep her closer, as Y/N put the palm of her hand on his soft chest. Neither of them seems to want to back off from each other but tehy where soon out of breath.

Just as Y/N and Nico's passionate kiss reached its peak, an unexpected interruption shattered the intimate moment. Y/N's friend Nina, a bundle of excitement, rushed over to them, her eyes wide with anticipation.

"Y/N, you won't believe what just happened!" Nina exclaimed, completely oblivious to the interrupted kiss.

Y/N and Nico quickly separated, their faces flushed with a mix of surprise and embarrassment. Y/N tried to regain her composure as she asked, "What happened, Nina?"

Nina took a deep breath, her words tumbling out in a rush. "You know that raffle they were holding for the signed Devils jersey? Well, you won it! They called your name, and you need to claim it at the stage right now!"

Y/N blinked in astonishment, her mind still reeling from the interrupted kiss. "I won? That's amazing!"

Nico couldn't help but smile, though a hint of disappointment lingered in his eyes. "Congratulations, Y/N. That's fantastic news."

Y/N, grateful for Nico's understanding, gave him a reassuring smile before turning her attention back to Nina. "Let's go claim that jersey, then!"

As they made their way to the stage to collect her prize, Y/N couldn't help but steal a glance at Nico, silently promising to continue their conversation and explore the feelings that had ignited during their stolen kiss.
