Two weeks. It been two weeks since the last time Dove has spoken her first words to me. Two weeks of her ignoring my entire existence. It's not like she even paid attention to me before but this time it feels colder more finalized. As we pass each other she walks straight ahead her brown eyes not my meeting my own but like always I see her. I notice shes wearing long sleeves during the middle of August , the dark circles around her beautiful eyes almost as if she a zombie walking with her head down trying to blend in with the school walls. I can't help but wonder what's beneath the surface. Behind her dull eyes, close mouth and underneath her baggy clothes, how she smells or even taste-
"Aries, Aries" As I heard my name being called I sit up and clear my throat as my thoughts fall to the back of my mind.
"Wassup my name Mike and I'm the captain of the football team and I just wondering if you play because we having tryouts after school"
" Nah I'm cool" I replied instantly
"Damn alright" Mike laughed a little to ease the awkward silence "just let me know if you change your mind" Mike walks away
I haven't played since my brother died, I can't imagine me doing anything that's a constant remainder of him but I think about mom and how she would loved for me to do something I used to love.
"Man fuck" I say underneath my breath, imma think about it
RING, RING, RING
It's time for my third block English the only class I have with her on A day. I walk straight to class it's not like I fuck with anybody in here anyway. I scan around the room until my eyes land on her, Dove. I take a sit next to her and I notice she tense up beside me it kinda pisses me off because I know I didn't do her shit but I let her be.
" Good morning class I want to give you a few minutes to settle in before I inform you all about y'all upcoming project."
Sighs and groans are heard through out the classroom. I personally don't give a fuck imma get my diploma and dip.
"ANYWAYS" the teacher continues "the project is worth sixty percent of your final grade so I will recommend you complete it, to make it easy for everyone the person you sit by with be your partner for the rest of the year because this project you are making a portfolio including series of poems, short stories, essays etc. Work together to create a story you will then present at the end of the year.
Ask some students raised their hand to asks follow-up questions I zone out. Until someone asks do we have to meet out of school to do this. This one caught my attention because I wouldn't mind if I got to know Dove out of school. I look at the teacher for her answer. "Well yes I suppose because we will be working on other assignments during class and then simply there won't be enough time." Me and Dove eyes meet just for a second and color rushes to her face.

School just let out and I'm still unsure about football tryouts but imma just see what's it's looking like. I run to my car and give some extra clothes I keep in there and walking into the locker room it's empty until I see the nigga who told me his name was Mike kissing some dark skinned nigga. I go to turn around and walk out because it's not my business but I guess they heard me and break apart.
Mike is first to speak "I-It's not ev-even like that" he stutters out
"Chill" I replied because I really don't give a fuck, I say with a bored facial expression
" What the fuck you mean Chill?" the no name nigga asked
" Exactly what the fuck I said I don't give a damn what y'all got going on so chill"
"So you not gonna tell nobody"
" Nah Mike you good, and I changed my mind what time football tryouts starts "
Mike lets out a little breath and says "4:30" and with that I walk out shaking my head. I don't care they gay I just don't like the nigga who was talking out the said of his neck. Football tryouts run smoothed and after I head home. Taking a hot shower rolling away a gar and let my thoughts fade towards Dove I wonder what she doing.

Hello my dear readers I have noticed a lot of people discovering my work and it gave me the motivation to start writing again. This chapter focuses on Aries and not gonna lie y'all probably gonna hate his ass sometimes but Aries isn't supposed just be doing the saving he needs to be saved as well anyways as yall can see Dove completely shut down and I might write about why. I'm not really into slow burns but I want it to make sense so bear with me. Please feel free to reach out and share feedback and suggestions. I wanna put out a chapter every week.
