You stormed out of the room, your heart pounding with anger and betrayal, determined not to let him explain his actions this time. You didn't want to hear his excuses or half-lies; there was no justification for him cheating on you for a second time. The pain and anger you felt were too overwhelming to bear, and all you wanted was to distance yourself from him.
As you attempt to walk away, footsteps echo behind you. He was chasing after you, desperation in his eyes.
"Y/N, wait, please," he implored, his voice strained with desperation.
He grabbed your arm and spun you around to face him, and before he could say a word, you unleashed your pent-up frustration.
"I don't want to hear it!" you screamed, your voice trembling with emotion."There's no way you can explain why you cheated on me again!"
He stood there, unable to form a response as your words hung heavily in the air. Just as he seemed on the verge of saying something, the door next to you opened, and a tall man wearing a black sniper veil stepped out. Recognition struck you immediately; he was the same man you had run into a year ago.
"Is everything okay?" his Austrian accent was thick as he spoke. You make eye contact as his cold eyes move from Ghost and soften when they land on you.
Realizing that you had probably caused quite a scene, you quickly composed yourself and offered an apologetic smile to the tall man.
"I'm sorry for being so loud," you said, your voice softening.
"Are you okay? Is this guy bothering you?" Konig's gaze was unwavering, asked with genuine concern.
Ghost, clearly agitated by the presence of another man, shot back with a snide comment. "She's not your concern. Mind your fucking business."
Konig's response was calm and collected, "It's hard to mind my business when your girlfriend is screaming at you for being a shitty boyfriend while I'm trying to sleep."
Ghost took a step towards him, clearly angered by his comment. But you quickly stepped between them, pushing Ghost away firmly.
"Leave him alone." directing your words to Ghost who was sizing up the tall Austrian man.
"I'm not his girlfriend. The bitch in his bed is." Ghost rips eyes away from him to look at you with wide eyes. He's about to object when you turn to the man, offering a faint smile despite the turmoil in your heart. "I'm okay. I apologize for the disturbance. You should get back to sleep."
With that, you turn and walk away, leaving your Ghost behind, seething with anger and regret.
The hallway fell into silence once more as you disappeared around the corner, leaving both guys to return to their rooms.
*Konig POV*
His heart nearly stopped when he finally recognized you, when he saw ghost carrying your limp body, your gaze far away as he passed him. His world had came crashing down.
He never stopped thinking of you ever since you had moved away all those years ago and now he saw you for the first time again in years and you were dead. He had lingered around the infirmary praying that they would resuscitate you and when they did relief showered down on him.
He came to check on you every day looking through the small window of your door. His heart nearly jumped out of his chest when he saw you wake up.
The memory of you, from last year when you had bumped into him, had stayed with him all this time. He had wanted to ask if you remembered him, but just as he mustered the courage, you were ripped away by that asshole.
