In the operating room, Konig watched with a mix of anxiety and guilt as the surgeons worked diligently to stitch you back together. He had refused to leave, going so far as to pull a knife on one of the nurses who tried to remove him. Eventually, they relented, allowing him to stay so he could keep watch over you.

As the surgeons continued their work, they delivered devastating news. The baby hadn't survived, and due to the damage to your abdomen, it was unlikely you'd be able to have children in the future.

Konig's world crumbled. He felt the weight of guilt bearing down on him, knowing that he could have prevented this if only he had been honest with you from the beginning. Tears streamed down his face as he blamed himself for what had happened.

Just then, Captain Price burst into the surgery room, covered in blood and with his gun trained on one of the nurses. He glanced at konig.

"What the fuck happened here."

"Sheppard stabbed her," he managed to say, his eyes locked on you, lying on the operating table.

Price quickly assessed the situation, asking the nurse about your condition. She confirmed that you had been stabilized, allowing Price to focus on getting you out of there. He removed the wires connected to you and gathered painkillers, urging Konig to carry you.

"The Kortac soldiers who accompanied us on the earlier mission attacked Ghost and I. The same happened with Soap and Gaz." Price explained tersely. "I don't know what Sheppard is planning, but we need to get out of here before they send reinforcements."

"Sheppard is dead," Konig added, as he carried you from the room. Price directed him out of the infirmary, Ghost, Soap, and Gaz guarding the hallway.

Their expressions a mix of concern and anger as they saw you. Ghost wanted to confront Konig, but he knew that now was not the time. They needed to get out of there before any more reinforcements came.

Safely making it to a helo, they flew back to their own base, which was about a day away. The entire way there, you remained asleep on the helo's floor, with Konig holding your hand and speaking softly to you in German, his words full of apologies and regret.

In the confines of the helicopter, Price finally asked Konig for the full story. Konig held nothing back, sharing every detail from the beginning of your relationship, the mission Shepherd had given him, and the heartbreaking loss of the baby. Ghost's anger flared, but Price intervened, recognizing that Konig's actions had been driven by a desperate need to protect you.

Price laid out their next course of action—they would continue their mission to take down Zakhaev. Despite the betrayal they had faced, they couldnt let him escape when they were so close in catching him. Konig agreed, and the remainder of the journey was marked by an uneasy silence.

Upon landing back at their base, Konig carefully carried you to the infirmary, Gaz leading the way. He remained at your side, his hand clasping yours as he sat beside you, his heart heavy with guilt and worry.

As you woke up in the hospital bed, your eyes met Konig's, and for a few moments, a heavy silence hung between you. Tears welled in your eyes as you pulled your hand away from his, the pain and betrayal etched across your face.

"How could you?" The words left your lips, dripping with pain and anger.

Konig's heart ached at your cold tone, and he desperately wanted to explain himself.

"Please let me explain, Schatz—"

"Don't call me that." Your voice was laced with bitterness and disappointment, making Konig's heart break even more. He understood your anger; he knew he had hurt you deeply.
