chapter ten,

Jan stare at Johanna barely paying attention to his therapy session,
"What?" Johanna asked
Jan shook his head,
Johanna nod,
They were quiet again until Johanna speak,
"So how long was it your therapists work with you?" Johanna asked
"A month or two" Jan said somehow he didn't have that tightness towards her as when he just realized she would be his therapist and it's not because he doesn't want to work with her but because he refused to have her seeing him this way,
So you intend to drive me away like you did them?" Johanna question
Jan look at her,
"I never saw myself as a quiter" Johanna said
Jan hide the smile
"Well that's it for today" Johanna said getting up off her knees she sat next to Jan stretching herself on the mat her eyes didn't leave him, she reach to rub his back lifting his shirt the touch of her hand make him shiver as if he could felt it in his toes, she rub him for some time easing up she kiss the center of his back making him jump,
She sat up to look at him,
"It's not hard if you tell yourself you can do it it can be done,
Jan look at her, he want it to be done he So badly wants to get up and get back out there and didn't know why he's so lack in confidence,
Since the other night Johanna hadn't been in his room she didn't want to let herself go so often it's not really a week as yet, but knowing he's unable to get up and get it on she wasn't sure if it bothered him,
Jan lift the sheep to look at his thing it was just laying there nor even a little hardness he wonder if he will ever have it working again, he didn't think he'll be able to get it on with Johanna or anyone, his mind flash to Gloria and think on how she didn't bother to come see him after a while of waiting on him to be up and about she walk out his life she had her reason but he wasn't expecting her to leave him he wondered if he's thinking about her, then he he didn't think he was he long got her out his head, he didn't want her no more, he was back to crushing on his high school crush this time they were closer than they used to but not close for they didn't talk more than the ordinary but some how he didn't want her gone,
He want to do anything to get off this wheelchair but he wasn't focused on it as if something telling him it's not going to work, he prayed and read his Bible he probably lock faith-based was doubtful he won't,
"Jan" Johanna said frightening him almost let him tilted over the wheelchair, he turn forgot he had his thing hanging out when he came to realize he quickly put it away and cover up with the blank
Johanna didn't missed that,
She walk over to him, "Is something wrong?" She asked
"Where?" Jan asked
"I saw you looking at your thing" Johanna said
Jan look at her,
"Want to share your discovery?" She asked
"Well it's nothing new" Jan said hanging his head
"Let me see it, Johanna said lifting the blanket to look it wasn't working but it didn't look all that hopeless, "Don't worry Jan we'll work on it"
Jan wonder if him walking again having an errection was nowhere near possible he didn't feel it but he didn't say,
Johanna pushed him into the living room and sat down on one of the sofas facing him her eyes focused around the big living room, it was near the ending of another week it is getting close to Chrisman and nothing was done to so the season was on, "we should put up a Christmas tree" Johanna said jan looked at her,
"What do you think jan?" She asked
"I'm not thinking" Jan said
Johanna smile, She got up took the handle of the wheelchair "Let's go Christmas tree shopping" Johanna said "We'll take your car"
"You're serious?" Jan asked looking up at her they were at his car and she was about to push him in,
"I'm not into the the" Jan try to say
"You don't celebrate Christmas" Johanna asked as she settled into the driver's seat, "lighten up Jan you used to be more fun, what happened you eventually lose your cool after high school or was it the accident?" Johanna stop herself and they look at each other, Johanna turn away watching the road, Jan repeated what she said in his head as he watch her, thinking to himself so she did remember him for what other reasons would she say that he wonder why she didn't say something about it if it's because he ignored her back then, it wasn't really that he had ignore her but he totally freaked when he was around her he wanted to say so much but he couldn't, he wonder why it happened that way for his best friend used to be friends with her best friend and yet still they never talked,
They got to the Christmas three park, "I'll wait in the car" Jan said
"No of course not we're going to look around together to see what tree you like" Johanna got out help him out and they walked around looking Jan didn't know how to decide "how about this one" Johanna said choosing a tall enough fig with heavy springs
"I'll go for it" Jan said
Johanna smile, She didn't try to convince him to chose else way, they got it on the car and Johanna pay they went into town to get decorations,
"Hey Mr Reeves, miss kartwell" a voice said they turn to see Gary, Mel, Amy and Dugaune they were shopping for Christmas item, as Johanna and jan were,
On seeing then both children ran to them as they share hugs,
"Ahhh jan" Mel said hugging him,
"You're Christmas shopping i see" Gary said to jan,
"Not me, she bought a tree and you know you can't just have a tree so she's here for decorations" Jan said
"Killing the mode aren't we?" Johanna hissed "we're both here to get decorations"
Jan look at Mel and Gary then to Johanna, he shrugged and smile
Gary smile ,
"The Grinch that stole Christmas" Johanna said
She gave him some flashy lights and walk away from him,
"I see you and miss kartwell getting on fine" Gary said
Jan nod,
"That's the spirit" Gary knock him and grin,
"So how do you feel now?" Gary asked
"I'm relax" Jan said Gary laughed
He wasn't lying he was feeling a lot more relax than when she just got there,
"I really like that" Gary said
Jan look up at him,
"I like these" Johanna said holding up some Christmas balls for the trees Jan look from one sets of balls to the other, "we could take them both" Johanna said
Jan nod,
"Johanna hissed
"What?" Jan asked
"Nothing" Johanna said turning away again,
Gary laughed bounce Jan, "So miss kartwell" he said
Johanna turned "we're going to leave you two to it"
"Ok Gary, nice to see you thanks, have a good day guys" she hug Amy and Dugaune kisses them hug Mel too,
They left Johanna and jan they finish their shopping and Johanna got take out before they went back to the house,
May, miss Maclean Ian and Johanna brought in the tree and jan took the things on his lap,
After a while of decorating
Miss Maclean make dinner may help Jan get clean up Johanna got fresh and later went for dinner Jan was at the table though he was served he didn't started eating until Johanna came she sat next to him, they ate together
May and miss Maclean noticed the changes between the two and talk amongst themselves about it,
"I think I'm going to let Jan lay off the pills a bit, so after tonight you'll give him no more" Johanna told may,
May didn't question her since she's his therapist
"Yes sure" may said
Johanna took jan to get checked on Friday, she explained to doctor kane why she think he can lay off the pills for some times
Doctor kane didn't object,
They were about to leave when levi stop Johanna
"So how is it going dr?" He asked
"He's a bit relax now I'm sure in no time he's going to be moving around" Johanna said
Levi smile and nod, he figure she took his advice but didn't bother to mention it, She was back with jan when he called again "how about a drink later?"
Johanna nod "Same time?" She asked
"Same place" Levi said
Jan look up at Johanna wondering what's going on and what is doctor was up to,
"You ok?" Johanna asked when they got home, she noticed he just sat staring out the window and was silent
Jan shook his head, "Excuse me he said and left for his room,
He skip dinner when Johanna got dress to go out with Levi she went to look for him he was sitting by the window looking out from there she could see the pool and the bar, she didn't notice before and wonder if he watch her when she's out by the pool enjoying a swim,
"Jan I noticed you missed dinner is something wrong?" Johanna asked
"No nothing is wrong" he said almost harshly "I thought you would be on your date by now"
"Oh it's really not a date, it's just two old collegemate meeting for a chat" Johanna said coming to face him she was holding a tray in her hand on which there were a slice of stake some vegetable and cheese stuffed baked potatoes and some corn cravey with a tall glass of milk sweeten carrot drink he look at her them to the tray look at her again,
"It's for you" Johanna said resting it on his lap,
For a while he look down on it,
Johanna lift his head upward as he met her eyes
"I asked may to see to you a little later, I'll be back shortly" she said bending to kiss him, her eyes tightly close as she sucked on his lips making them trimble, he had to grip the tray to save it from turning over,
She walk away and he turn to watch her leaving a smile comes on his face as he thought that maybe there wasn't anything going on between them after all,
Johanna got back to the villa by midnight Jan was in bed when she came he close his eyes when he heard the car he wasn't sure if she would come if but he lay still it appears to Johanna he was sleeping so she didn't bother him she kisses him slightly pulled the covers up to his chesy then went to her room,
Jan sigh when she left, he push the covers down, for he was sweating hard it's been two years since the accident and this was his first time trying to sit up by himself he grip the sheet ease his back up slowly until he was sitting up, he grin to himself he sigh deeply then grin it's the first in two years he felt he didn't need to relied on anyone to do for him for two years he haven't felt the sense of independence but this felt real good, he smile and it became a giggle then a laughter,
On his own he try to do more sitting ups and because Johanna has been helping him to restrain his back it didn't feel difficult,
"How is your back?" Johanna asked they were finishing up the sessions on Friday morning
Since she didn't gave him any pill in eight days she hope he was coping without and he wouldn't be feeling any pain he wont be able to andle,
"It's alright, it felt fine" jan said
"Ok if there's any pain at all be sure to tell me right"
Jan nodded
"For i an not a mine reader or am i a sidekick" Johanna said
Jan laugh cover his mouth and nod "yes mam" he said
Johanna kiss his forehead "go now go get fresh for breakfast"
Jan nod wheel himself away and left her there,
Since Jan started sitting up he tries getting off the bed too and found it to be easy but because may came to help him in the morning he let her, he didn't say it to Johanna or to Gary, as a matter of fact he didn't mention it to anyone,
"How about we go shopping for hristmast gifts?" Johanna asked Jan was sitting out by the pool,
"Isn't it two more weeks before Christmas?" Jan question without a care,
"You don't check your calendar do you? Christmas is next week" Johanna said
"It's still far" can said
"We can still go shopping" Johanna said
"I'm not interested" jam grumbled
"Look Jan if you reflect on the few minutes between the conversation we just had you would have realized I didn't asked if you're intrested" Johanna said
"You mentioned going and I'm saying" Jan said before he was abruptly cut off,
"We're going would you like to change or is it that you're fine, I'll get the car and my bag" Johanna said turn to leave Jan shook his head,
By Johanna got out he was waiting at the car Johanna grin,
"Won't you be going home for Christmas why you so eager to go gift shopping?" Jan asked
They had just pulled up in front the gift shop
Johanna didn't reply instead she got our the car help him out and they went in,
The rest of day they just shop Johanna took him to a restaurant afterward they have a meal before going home,
Jan went to his room after they got settled he took his gifts that Johanna had chose for him he got things for Gary Mel and the children Tony and Keisha, Lauren and Barry, both his parents one each for may and miss Maclean,
Johanna gotten a lot of gifts by she was done wrapping it was already late she missed dinner, but grabbed some pistachio icecream later on her way out to the pool, she thought she might relax and enjoy a little late night swim by this most the lights were out so she believed that she was up a lone,
Jan didn't feel like sleeping so he decided to sit out by the pool and enjoy some of the cool air, May and miss Maclean had gone off to bed, Ian wasn't by the bar so he must be off to bed too, since Johanna came from gift shopping he haven't seen her he didn't see her came for dinner he had the feeling she was by this sleeping,
He was there when the door to the dinning room open and she came out,
Johanna decided to swim in just panties she only just drop her robe when she realized the shadow at first she was startled for she didn't see it was Jan, she smile and held her chest then she frown, "you startled me you know" Johanna said
"Weren't you in bed, you missed dinner, don't tell me you've been playing with gifts all that while" he try not to look straight at her for her breast was hanging out,
Johanna stroll over to him,
"Girls often time become so caught up they lost track of time" she sat on him feeding him some of her ice-cream, "boys often tim3 become too caught up in other things to even noticed what's right in front of them" Johanna said as she kisses him Jan lift his head to look at her, he wonder why she said that, but he didn't asked he notice her nice tips they just shoots at him,
"What is it you're doing?" Jan asked
"Where?" Johanna asked
"Here" Jan said
"I'm here for a swim"
"Come on Johanna you know damm well that's not what I meant" Jan said
"Because I did this?" She asked kissing him once again
"Mmh" Jan said between her lips,
"Nothing specific, maybe because I want to know what your kisses is like" Johanna said
Jan grinned,
Johanna kisses him once again although she was going to take a swim her mode eventually changes she finished the ice cream got up put on her robe and started to head back in
"I thought you were here for a swim" Jan said
"Can't a girl changes her mind?" Johanna asked
"Aren't they free?" Jan asked since Johanna was going back in Jan followed they were at his door when she stopped and face him,
"I think Tomorrow we'll work on the foot lift" Johanna said
Jan wonder if he's ready for that didn't think himself to be ready but he didn't object, he wheel into his room and Johanna follows him, she kisses him removed her robe sat on him once again, she took hi. From his shorts and play with him a bit somehow it didn't feel as soft as the first time she touch it, with a little effort she managed to get him in though he wasn't hard it gave a good feeling and Johanna work her way around it, she took his hands resting then on her breast he started rubbing then find it to be so good soon his hands were sliding across her back he pulled her close to suck on her breast Johanna moan turning her hips Jan was trill front her actions only he couldn't get on errection but the feeling in his stomach was enough to trill him, Johanna climax and grin at him resting her head on his chest both of them heart beats radically,
"Want me to help you get ready for bed?" Johanna asked when she managed to separate herself from him,
"I'll be fine" Jan said
Johanna look at him, "I'll be fine it's not my ego speaking" he said
Johanna smile, "ok then" Johanna said bending to kiss him "see you at therapy in the morning" she said leaving the room pulled the door behind her and watchto see, when she left Jan decided to help himself out of the wheelchair and on to his bed he pulled the chair close and got out barely resting his foot on the ground and scramble to the bed,
"Wow Jan how wow, you could" Johanna said frightening Jan he turn quickly and almost lost his balance Johanna caught him before he stumbled
"I'm sorry" she said helping him to rest on the bed,
"You didn't have to frighten me you know" Jan said
"I'm sorry it's just that I'm taken back that you can get out the wheelchair" Johanna said
"Wasn't that what you've been working so hard far?" Jan asked
Johanna giggle "I'm excited" she said kissing him slightly then deeply,
"Oh Jan I love you so much" she burst out, they look at each other strangely Johanna got up wishing she didn't she left the room feeling embarrassed but Jan smile at her words wonder if she meant it.
They had a good session in the morning one Jan 2as pleased with, in the afternoon they relax to a little foot work Johanna work on his instep with acupuncture needles and the ball' Jan felt the sharp edge of the needle and grit his teeth,
"Did you feel that?" Johanna asked
He didn't answer but on the next time his expression shows,
Johanna grin now that's it for today, why not rest later and I'll see you at dinner" Jan nodded
Johanna help him to his chair and watch him in before she gathered up her things and she too went in freshen up and joined him for breakfast.
