I sit on my chair, waiting for this boring meeting to end. All I can think about is Mia. I know this is an important meeting but my brain just won't focus. Not when I have Mia now. I can't wait for this meeting to end. It was definitely longer than I expected. I thought it would only be for an hour or at least an hour and a half. But no. The meeting started two fucking hours ago and we are already in the third hour. All because they decided to come up with more ideas for their business . All want right now is to leave this office, go home, and see Mia. That's all I want right now. I cannot be bothered with this meeting, I swear to god.

'...Right? Christian?' I snap back into the present as I hear my name being called. 'What? Could you repeat what you said, please?' He rolled his eyes at me. This motherfucker had the fucking audacity to roll his eyes at me. 'I said. This would work right?' The bastard repeats. 'What would work?' I ask. 'This whole presentation could've just been an email.' I shoot, clearly annoyed. The bastard looks shocked at my curt response. 'This meeting has been going on for two hours. All I want is to go home, have my lunch and see my girlfriend.' Girlfriend? 'Ah. I see. So you prioritize your love life over your work life, Mr. Black?' Shit. I don't know why I've somehow blurted out that last sentence, but that was not supposed to happen. 'Of course not, sir. But you see, this meeting has been far too long. I felt that your other ideas that you came up with could've just been an email. It need not be a meeting. And considering you arrived 10 minutes early. Wouldn't it be equal if we ended the meeting 10 minutes earlier too?' The bastard glares at me. 'I will take your words and ideas into consideration. I will have my assistant email you the details once I'm done. But for now. The meeting is over.' I have apparently shocked the bastard and his team into silence.

I stand up from my chair, grab all my things and straighten my suit before walking to the front entrance. I said a 'Thank you for your hard work, once again.' before leaving. I went straight to the elevator. I press the button to the first floor to talk to my assistant before leaving. 'Lillian.' I call as I reach the front desk. 'I'm leaving early for my lunch break today. And cancel all the other meetings I have later in the day as I won't be available from this time onwards.' My assistant looks taken aback. I usually wouldn't cancel on meetings like this unless I have some urgent matters I need to attend to, or some places I need to be. 'And put these on my desk, please.' I say as I place my work laptop, pen and notebook onto the counter. 'Oh. Of course, sir.' 'Thank you, Lillian.' I say on the way out.

I had already texted for my driver to come get me while I was talking to Lillian. I simply cannot be bothered with walking all the way back to the lift and going down to floor G to take my car from the parking lot and driving all the way up to the first floor to exit. Having personal drivers make things a lot quicker, and easier.

After just 2 minutes of waiting, my car arrives. 'Hello, sir.' My Valet greets me as he opens the door. 'Hello.' I say, getting in the car. A second later, the door shuts. The car begins to move. 'Where to, sir?' My driver asks. 'Just to my apartment, David. Thanks.' I say scrolling through my contacts until I found Mia's name. I hit call and waits for her to pick up. A few rings later. 'Hello?' 'Hi, Mia.' 'What are you calling me for?' Mia asks. 'I just wanted to let you know that I am coming home now.' 'What? Now? So early?' 'Yes.' 'But I'm not ready yet!' I hear Mia scream from a distance. 'What are you doing?' I ask. 'I'm just getting ready. You know, skincare, makeup, hair, change and shave.' 'And which step are you on now?' I ask, perplexed by her routine. 'I'm literally shaving my legs on the toilet seat in a robe right now.' Mia screams. 'Mia. You don't have to scream. I can hear you.' 'Okay, okay. But I'm busy, so I'll see you when you reach home.' I chuckle. 'Alright. I'm almost there. Just two more minutes.' A quick. 'Okay, okay. Bye.' from Mia's side. 'Bye. I love-' And just like that the call ended. I chuckle to myself. 'Is that your girlfriend, sir?' David, my driver asks. 'Since when did I pay you to eavesdrop?' I say. David chuckles. 'Only curious, sir.' I eye him suspiciously through the rearview mirror. My shoulders sag. 'I don't know. We haven't made it official yet. But I do hope so.' I say earnestly. A nod from David. 'I see.' Comes from the driver's seat.

A minute later we are driving through the gates of my apartment. 'We're here, sir.' My driver says as he parks at our usual, "pick up and drop off" station. 'Thank you, David.' I say as I reach my hand down to unbuckle my seatbelt. Huh? I was so eager on seeing Mia that I forgot to buckle my seatbelt. Shit man. Get it together. I open the left car door, and as I exit, I say one last 'Thanks again, David.' I slam the car door shut as I walk to the lift. I press the up button impatiently. The lift finally arrives, and I press floor 9, my floor.
