I read through the paragraph I had typed out on my laptop to see if it needs any corrections. After a few seconds, Christian comes back with a croissant, a coffee, and some sort of pastry with berries as the filling. I know there's berries as the filling because I order that all the time. It's my go to. My favourite pastry they have in this whole cafe. Saying that I am obsessed would be an understatement. 'I'm back.' Christian says with a huff, as he plops down onto the seat. He puts all the things in his hands onto the table and passes a pastry to me. 'This ones for you.' 'What? I thought I said I didn't want anything.' I say, surprised. He passed me my favourite pastry. 'How did you know I love this one?' 'I've seen you picked this one most of the time. I mean, all the time. It's got to be your favourite.' Is he... spying on me? 'Were you stalking me, Christian Black?' 'No! I wasn't!' He puts his arms up defensively. 'I swear I wasn't! I just see you sometimes from outside of the store.' He explains. 'So you've seen me before?' 'Of course I have. I come here all the time. So do you. It's hard to miss.' I'm still shocked with this information because HE'S SEEN ME. He's seen me walk around and order my coffee. He's seen me before this. And I haven't seen him. It feels so weird, it feels like I'm missing out on stuff. It feels like he knows so much more about me now than I do him. 'So you've just been seeing me order my food like a stalker?' 'Like I said, I'm not stalking you. I was just passing by.' 'Hmm.' I tease. 'Weird.' Christian laughs. 'Just eat your damn pastry.' By now, I have the biggest smile on my face. And I don't even care if he's seen me more than I have, or that he knows more about me than I do him. Okay, I'm not gonna lie, I do still feel a little weirded out by that. But, it just feels so comforting to know that he's here.

We spent the next 30 minutes chatting and catching up with each other. Although I only knew him for a few days, it feels like reconnecting with an old friend. Soulmate even. 'So your sister's pregnant, huh?' 'Yeah,' I smile. 'It's really exciting.' 'I can imagine.' Christian says, taking a sip of coffee from his cup. 'What's the gender?' He asks, setting the cup back down on the table. 'It's a girl. They're thinking of naming her after my grandmother.' 'That's sweet,' Christian smiles. 'What was her name?' 'It's Agnes.' 'That's a lovely name.'

We continued talking about how his work had been, how my work had been, how his workers had been a pain in the ass. You name it, we talked it. Shit, I even brought up the weather at some point because there was an awkward silence. 'Well,' Christian starts. 'I'm glad life has been treating you well.' 'Thanks.' I reply with a smile.

'Wow,' Christian says, checking his watch. 'We've been here for quite a while now. It's even starting to get dark outside.' 'Yeah, it is. I didn't even realize the time.' I say, glancing out the window. 'Shall we get going then? I think I've had enough coffee too.' Christian chuckles. 'Yeah, let's get out of here.'
