I was in Jamie's flat and were all just chilling. Jamie was contacting people and catching up on some letters, Aaron was doing coursework and I was in the kitchen on my phone."Yo, kit," Jamie spoke into his phone, "Yeah, man's back. Gotta chop it up, man. So hit me, innit. Love." He said and then rifled through some papers on the kitchen Island. "What's this?" He asked Aaron.
I put my phone down and peered at the letter, "Looks like a bill?" I said, "£850 on a car repair?" Then I looked at Aaron, Jamie and I both had the same expression.
"It's sorted, innit," Was all Aaron said, leaving Jamie and I lost. What was sorted? What on earth happened?
Jamie asked the question for me, "What's sorted, Aaron?"
"This girl, Tia, she, um, took this key worker's car and got in some accident," Aaron explained but I was still lost, "I paid for it, man, don't worry."
"You paid it? For why? What's this Tia girl got to do with you?" I asked, scoffing slightly.
"Mhm, I paid it with my money from my job," He said, sassily. I screwed him and returned to my phone.
"So let me get this straight. You took your money to pay for some next gyal's car repair?" Jamie asked.
"It weren't some next girl's car, was it? Aaron explained, "Stef was in the car."
"Wait. What?" Jamie asked, angrily, he went round into the living room, "And you're only showing me this now, like? Was feds involved?" I looked up from my phone.
"No."
"When did this happen?"
"When you and Femi was away."
"Bruv, I left you in charge, Aaron," Jamie said, "You're supposed to stop him from getting into trouble and shit, bro. Like, if I'm not here, you're the man of the house."
Aaron sighed and got up, "I'm tired of your shit, man." He said, "It's not every day tryna draw me out. Telling me to step up and be the man of the house. You weren't here, Jamie. I was. I did the best that I could."
"So, what, you want a medal for that?" Jamie asked, sarcastically, "You want a medal for lookin' after your little brother? Let man know."
"I ain't tryna hear this," Aaron said, making his way out of the living room.
"Bro, where you goin' when I'm talkin' to you?" Jamie asked, tryna grab Aaron back into the room.
Aaron lost it, "Don't fuckin' touch me, man," He snapped, landing a punch on Jamie's face. I took a step back and watched the scene unravel.
"Jamie, leave him," I said, "Lowe it- Jamie!" I tried to stop him, grabbing his arm but he snatched it away.
"Bruv, are you fuckin' dumb? Huh?" Jamie said, angrily. He stormed over and grabbed Aaron's collar, smashing him against the wall and glass from a picture went everywhere.
Shit.
This just made me remember what happened with Jordan.
I rubbed my forehead as it began to sweat. Stay in the moment. Stay in the moment. Jordan's not here.
I calmed myself slightly and blinked twice, the situation was in front of me but it was sort of blurry. I could still hear the shouting, however.
"Get off me, man!" Aaron struggled.
"Huh?" Jamie asked, holding him tightly against the wall. "After everything I've done for you lot?"
"Please, man!"
