"Alexander." Magnus's feet did not want to walk towards the white bed in front of him. For a second, everything around him was quiet. He did not hear Izzy's screams, Simon and Helens worried voices or the very faint beeping sound of the machines in the room. His eyes were fixed on the white bed in front him and everything else was just a blur. Magnus stood in front of the bed, and he almost did not recognize his soulmate on the bed.

"Alexander." Magnus inhaled deeply. He had to be strong. He could heal his husband... he just had to. Magnus's fingers started moving as he started monitoring from Alec's head to toe with the magic. Magnus was trying to find even a glimpse of life within Alec.

"Alexander, please stay with me." Mangus begged as he started checking for pulse, or a glimpse of life force in Alec. He was unsuccessful the second the time and the frustration, anger, and grief were slowly trying to creep in. He tried to keep those feelings on bay by groaning loudly.

"Come on! Alexander! Stay with... Come on... Please stay with me." Magnus started checking Alecs body with his magic again for the third time.

"Angel, please..." Tear drops were rolling down his cheeks as magnus tried for the fourth, fifth, sixth time.

"Magnus, please." Izzy's drained and weak voice made Magnus look back at Izzy, Most of the blood she had on her face had been washed away by her own tears.

"Let me go." Magnus removed Izzy's hand away from his shoulder. He did not have time to waste.

"Alexander, please... My love, come on... please come back." Magnus tried one more time before he felt Simons hands on his shoulder.

"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!" Magnus screamed without looking back as he did not want any distractions.

"Magnus, please stop" Izzy was sobbing louder now.

"Magnus." Simon did not let Magnus go. Magnus turned around to attack Simon but both Izzy and Helen hold into Magnuss arms.

"LET ME GO!" Magnus demanded.

"I NEED TO HELP ALEXANDER, LET ME GO." Magnus shouted as Izzy and Helen were not letting him go. Magnus tried to break away from Izzy and Helen and he could easily push both of them away if he tried but with every second, they were holding into him, he slowly came to accept that his Alexander was not there anymore. As Magnus got tired from struggling, he begged.

"Please, let me go" Magnus's knees gave up as he begged again and again. He kneeled on floor as he begged.

"Please, let me go. I..." Magnus gulped. More and more tears rolled down his face. He wanted to clench his chest as it felt extremely tight.

"I need to save my Alexander. Izzy... I need to save my love." Magnus sobbed as he looked into Izzy's eyes. Izzy had already let go of Magnuss arm by now but they both knew, nothing would change.

"Magnus." Izzy hugged Magnus so tightly. As Izzy buried her face on Magnus's shoulder, she started crying louder than before.

"Alec." Magnus faintly heard Jace's voice, but Magnus or Izzy were not in the mindset to look up.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Magnus looked at himself in the mirror. As it was a Saturday morning, normally Alec would be in the kitchen, trying to make some crêpes and failing miserably. He might be excellent at making French toast and waffles, but he never mastered the art of crêpes. Alec always tried to be quiet as much as he could in Saturday morning but failed miserably every single time, but it was eerily quiet in the loft that morning. Magnus could not hear any noises from the kitchen, or he could not hear any of the giggling voices of his two sons.

Magnus turned around and looked at the bed behind him. The bed still had the clothes Alec wore before going to the mission in L.A. After the incident, Magnus fell asleep while clutching into Alecs clothes as to try and find even the smallest of comfort.

Magnus turned back and looked himself from the mirror again. He was dressed in all white clothes for his husbands funeral. He had no makeup on his face. His hair was all flat, and he had no life in his eyes.

In the past few days, Magnus broke down and cried again and again to the point he had no tears to spare. All he could feel was the numbness and extreme loneliness around him. His eyes sometimes wondered around the loft, looking for even the glimpse of his angel. Sometimes, he called out Alecs name and waited for a response. When he did not hear anything, he went and checked every single room in the loft. Alec was not in the kitchen, nor was he in the bedroom, or in their sons bedroom reading bedtimes stories to Max and Rafe or in the living room reading some clave documents he brought home with him. His Alexander was nowhere to be found. Magnus could feel he was falling into despair with every single second. Magnus sighed and got up from the bench he was sitting on. He knew it was time to get to the institute. As much as he wanted to avoid the harsh truth, he opened a portal to the institute and stepped in.

As soon as he stepped out from the portal, he saw his Max and Rafe.

"Papa." Max and Rafe ran towards Magnus. As Magnus was in an extremely bad place, Maryse offered to look after Max and Rafe till Magnus was ready. Maryse had dressed up the boys in white clothes.

"Max, Rafe." Magnus kneeled and hugged his two sons. He gathered all his energy not to break down in front of his two sons. To Max and Rafe, now they only had Magnus and Magnus and had to be stronger for them.

Magnus Jace walked toward Magnus as he saw Magnus with the two boys.

"Jace." Magus picked up both boys with each arm and got up.

"How are you....." Jace did not know how to finish the sentence. Magnus smiled sadly at Jace before he walked away with his two sons. Max and Rafe buried their faces on Magnus's shoulders.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Magnus felt a part of him die with every second spent in front of Alec's lifeless body. Alecs body was covered in a white cloth, and few rose petals were scattered over it. Still, Magnus could see Alec's face through the white cloth. Alec looked so peaceful. Magnus felt as if Alec would open his eyes any second and smile shyly before saying good morning.

As the funeral ritual started, Magnus felt a loneliness he had never experienced, wrapped him. He felt as if this grasp was something that would never leave him. Magnus was staring into the void when it was time to announce Alec's name, so Jace stepped up.

"Alexander Gideon Lightwood-Bane"

"Ave Atque Vale!"

"Hail and farewell"
