"Hey, kiddo. Are you hungry?"The lady with green skin and coral asked, and A nodded eagerly.

"Come here." The lady kneeled so she could pick up 'A' and 'A' did not think twice. He willing, went into her arms, and let her pick him up. He may only know her for a few minutes, but he knew he could trust the lady anytime over his own birth mother.

"Is there anything you would like to eat?" The lady faced the grill and asked from 'A' as she pointed at the grill.

"Anything." 'A' replied a little bit too quickly, but his voice was barely a whisper.

"Anything? Then how about a bit of everything and a milkshake?" To which, 'A' nodded eagerly.

"What flavour of milkshake would you like?" She asked as she started platting some food. 'A' observed her keenly as she used her magic to plate the food.

"Strawberry." He replied softly.

"Strawberry it is." She smiled and snapped her fingers on her free hand, and then there was a huge milkshake that was definitely as big as 'A's face in front of him.

"Woah." He gasped. His cute little gasp made the lady chuckle a bit.

"It is all yours. Now, as you have your milkshake, can you tell me how you got here?"

'A' told her. Told her everything as he could with his limited vocabulary. He told her how his mom was always sleeping and how his stepdad, Marcus, hit him and how he ran away and how he had not had any food till now. He told her about the flame he saw and how he kept on walking towards the flame. He ended his story after mentioning the man with golden eyes.

"Golden eyes?" She asked. 'A' nodded as he took another large sip from his milkshake.

"Like cat eyes?" She asked. 'A' thought for a second and then nodded again.

"Like beautiful cat eyes." 'A' replied. This has been the longest 'A' has ever talked to anyone.

"Interesting." She said out loud. 'A' looked at her with his big eyes, and she smiled at him softly.

"You also have some beautiful eyes. It is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, except for the high warlock of Alicante. You both have some mesmerising eyes." She said.

"Alica.. where?" 'A' asked. She started laughing.

"You are adorable, aren't you. It is called Alicante. Birthplace of Shadowhunters." 'A' tilted his head as he didn't really understand what she was talking about.

"I will teach you later, but for now, how about you get some good rest? You had a one hellish day today." The lady got up from the chair she was sitting and offered her hand, which 'A' happily took. For the first time in his life, he was not hungry or thirsty, and he felt very content and safe, and maybe that is why he was so tired. So tried that he felt that he could curl into a ball anywhere and go to sleep.

"If you are happy, you can stay with me. I have a cottage not too far from here, and I teach a lot of young warlocks and sorcerers. I am sure they will be happy to have another friend. What do you think?"

"Warlocks and sauces?" 'A' asked, and the lady started laughing, which made a few people around them look at her.

"You are so adorable that I can just eat you up." She pinched 'A's check softly.

"Please dont eat me." 'A' replied, which only made her laugh louder.

"I won't, I promise on the moon and stars. Now let's go. Shall we?"

What 'A' did not realise then was that he would spend the rest of his childhood in that small cottage in the woods. This cottage is kind of a magical cottage you would see in fairy tales. The cottage was a few feet away from a beautiful water stream. The area around the cottage was covered with beautiful green grass. It was a sight to see. During the autumn, the trees around the cottage would take different variations of yellow and orange, and during spring, the freshly bloom flowers would add a beautiful fragrance into the air. During the winter, the cottage and the stream and everywhere you could see from there would be covered in snow. When the sunlight hit the snow, the whole area would start sparkling. 'A' enjoyed a lot of his time outside of the cottage. He would just stay away from the cottage and draw the cottage throughout the season. This was a habit he picked up in his third winter at the cottage.
