"Should've asked her." Harry mumbled as Ron stared daggers at their friend, Ivy, spun around the room with none other than his older brother, George.

"I can't believe the nerve of him." Ron huffed. He'd had a crush on Ivy since 1st year - everyone knew it, even George. Ron couldn't believe he'd asked her to the Yule Ball.

As George lifted Ivy into the air, they both laughed. Once she was safely back on the ground, he nodded nonchalantly to the table where his younger brother was fuming. "You know, as much as I love you, I only asked you to piss in his pumpkin juice." He laughed. Ivy giggled, she and the twins were very good friends but nothing more. They knew she had eyes for Ron and only Ron, and was waiting for his move.

"Why do you think I said yes?" She replied, with a sneaky grin.

"You mischievous little devil," George chuckled, rustling up her hair. "That's why we get along so good."

"I feel kinda bad." Ivy suggested as the music slowed to a halt. "I was just waiting on his move." She shrugged.

"I can assure this," George said, "he won't make the first one. I figured asking you to the Ball would put a little fire under him, but not enough apparently."

The pair walked closer to the table. "Maybe I was wrong, maybe he doesn't like me like that." She said quietly, a little sad. Typically, Ivy would've made the first move but she didn't want to ruin their friendship if the feeling wasn't mutual.

"Oh trust me," Fred chimed in, throwing an arm over George and an arm over Ivy. "He does. You're a constant topic at home, way more than Harry and Hermione." Ivy mulled over their words for a moment - while they were jokesters, Ivy knew the twins well enough that she knew they wouldn't have lied about that.

"Alright, guess it's my move then." She grinned, looking at both twins who gave her a nod of approval. "Hey, Ron!" She called, hoisting her dress up and running to the table where he sat with Harry. Ron said nothing. He got up and left, leaving Ivy confused and speechless. Maybe the twins were wrong.

Ivy was upset, nonetheless. She decided to take a walk, clear her head. Ron was obviously upset with her about something and she knew that was probably George, so she felt a little guilty. She wished she'd had time to explain herself - maybe trying to make him jealous was a bad idea. Ivy flopped down in her flowing, lavender dress and plucked at a blade of grass.

"Are you daft?" Fred asked, no sooner than they made it to the common room. Ron was already there, sulking on the couch. George added, "Really, Ron?"

"I don't want to hear anything from either of you, especially you." He pointed at George. George rolled his eyes.

"We were just messing with you!" He threw his hands up, knowing Ivy wouldn't want Ron to find out like this but they were getting absolutely no where on their own. "She only did it to make you jealous!"

"Why would I be jealous?" Ron said, like he didn't care. Hermione noticed the change in his eyes and decided to intercede.

"Because you're in love with her." She shrugged, not looking up from her book.

"Thank you, Granger." George continued, "what she said."

"I am not." Ron huffed.

"Oh, come on Ron." Harry added, "We all know it. We all know how she feels about you. The only two people who don't know it is apparently you two!"

"She likes me?" Ron said quietly, finally looking up.

Fred swatted him on the back of the head, "Ding! Ding! Ding!"

Ivy made her way back to the common room, just before turning the corner to the portrait she was met with a familiar face. "Hey." Ron said quietly.

"Hi." Ivy looked down, "so you're gonna talk to me now?"

"Ivy, I'm sorry. I.. I just didn't know how.." Ron began stuttering, Ivy listened patiently, watching him fumbled over his words and use his hands way too much. The words he was stringing nervously really didn't make any sense, but she got the idea. "Then Fred and George.. uh.. they, and Hermione, Harry.. they.. uhm.. they made me.." Ron's nervous babbling was cut off by a kiss being planted on his lips, he froze at first, then relaxed.. the anxiety leaving as he bravely placed his hands on Ivy's hips and began to kiss her back.

"I'm in love with you, Ron." Ivy whispered, when they finally pulled apart. "Have been for a while, I was just waiting on you."

Ron placed a hand on the wall behind Ivy and leaned down for another kiss, "I love you too, Ivy. I'm sorry I'm so late admitting it."

Ivy wrapped her arms around him and pulled him closer, going in for a third kiss before being broke apart by the sound of foot steps. They separated quickly. "So, potions tutoring is tomorrow right?" Ron said quickly, noticing it was Snape.

"Yeah," Ivy smiled, eyes still locked with Ron's. "Don't be late."

"Never again." He grinned.
