Warning: Blood, taking one's blood without consent and mentions of vampiresSeverus had just finished teaching fourth-year students when he received Lucius' letter. At first he was surprised to see the old but familiar envelope from Malfoy Manor - he almost thought he was dreaming. He was reminded of the times before the war when Lucius used to send him letters from the manor...
When he finally came back from reality, he opened it and scanned the letter. He had barely finished reading it before storming out of Hogwarts, hurrying towards a place he thought he would never return to. And that's where he is right now.
He's furiously knocking on the door, waiting for somebody to answer. Why isn't Lucius greeting him?? Is he injured, too?
Just as Severus considers blowing up the front door, Lucius finally answers. He gives his friend an apologetic look. "I apologise, Severus. I had completely forgotten that I have no house elves to greet guests-" he says just as he suddenly hisses in pain. The sunlight is burning his skin.
Severus acts quickly and pushes Lucius inside, slamming the door behind them. The Potions Master sighs. "It's all right, at least you came before I blew up the door... Yes, I was in fact going to do that" he states seriously, looking at Lucius' surprised and shocked expression.
"You wouldn't dare!" the blonde-haired man exclaims, even though he knows deep down that his friend would have done such a thing. Such a horrific thing - ruining his manor like that...
Severus sighs again, annoyed that Lucius has clearly forgotten why they are here in the first place. "Where is the girl? Is she all right?" he asks impatiently.
Lucius returns back to reality at once before clearing his throat. "She's in one of the guest rooms. And she's all right, all things considered. She will however need to heal from the injury on her head" he explains.
The man in black nods. He then notices something different about the place. "I see you have remembered to cover all the windows. I also notice that you have removed the mirrors" he states, seeing the dusty lines on the empty wall where there used to be a big mirror in the hallway.
Lucius closes his eyes. "Yes, I... couldn't handle looking in the mirror as I see nothing" he explains, barely above a whisper.
Severus' usual hard expression softens a bit. Just as he slowly grabs Lucius' hand to tell him it's okay, they hear a scream upstairs.
"The girl is awake. We should calm her down and assure her that she is safe" Lucius suggests while looking at his hand covered by Severus', giving a sad smile. Nodding, the Potions Master reluctantly lets go of his friend's hand as they walk upstairs and enter the room together.
When they enter, they see the young woman on the bed, covered by the duvet. Her eyes are wide open from fear.
Lucius shushes her. "It's all right, miss. You are safe here" he promises.
The girl is shaking as she speaks with a low, scared voice. "What happened? Where am I?" she asks.
"You were attacked and injured last night. I scared the drunk man away and brought you here to my home where you would be safe" Lucius slowly explains to her, not telling her about the other vampires.
"Right! I remember now! That guy, he was going to..." she says before stopping mid sentence, closing her eyes shut. The memories clearly cause her a lot of pain.
