The wizard's temptation

Once upon a time, in the vast depths of the sparkling ocean, there lived a merman prince named Calyce. With his iridescent scales and flowing mane of pink hair, he was known for his kind heart and love for sea creatures. Calyce's kingdom beneath the waves was a realm of peace and harmony, where sea creatures danced in unison and sang songs of joy.

One day, driven by insatiable curiosity, Calyce felt a powerful urge to explore the surface world. He had heard stories of the land above, with its towering mountains, vast grasslands, and diverse creatures. Determined to see it with his own eyes, Calyce used his magic to transform his tail into legs, emerging as a handsome human prince.

Venturing to the surface, Calyce was amazed by the view before him: the vast expanse of land, the towering trees and the warmth of the sun on his skin. Eager to explore, he set out on his journey. He walked for a long time, exploring on his own. He didn't dare get too close to human cities, noticing, without knowing why, that humans often stared at him. They weren't used to seeing someone like him.

In the heart of a mysterious forest, Calyce came across an ancient stone tower. Intrigued, he approached the tower and looked inside, where he discovered a stunning young man named Davor. Calyce's breath was taken away by his enchanting smile and captivating eyes.

Calyce was immediately captivated by Davor's beauty and grace. He felt a deep connection and an irresistible feeling of love at first sight. Davor, sensing Calyce's admiration, smiled warmly at him and welcomed him into the tower, passing over the fact he entered uninvited.

To his surprise, Davor revealed that he was aware of Calyce's true nature as a merman, although he was unaware of his status as a prince. He saw this as an opportunity to use Calyce to obtain a powerful artifact from the merpeople.

Driven by his own selfish desires, Davor convinced Calyce to join him on a journey to the ocean, where a potion would allow him to follow the merman underwater. Totally under his spell, Calyce did not hesitate for a moment. Exploring the surface world while being guided by a local would be much more fun. And he was glad it was Davor.

As they traveled together, Calyce couldn't help but notice a change in Davor's behavior. Between his kindness and his vulnerability, there were sometimes slight clues to his true purpose. But Calyce ignored them. He drank the wizard's words with admiration.

As their journey progressed, Davor's heart began to soften. Calyce's company was more than pleasant. The more he witnessed Calyce's selflessness and sincere concern for others, the more he realized that his original intentions were misguided. Guilt and regret overwhelmed him, and it became clearer to him that he was going to betray the one he had come to love. If he stole this artifact, he would become a sorcerer of unparalleled power... but the merpeoples would not be able to survive.

One fateful evening, as they neared their destination, Davor could no longer bear the weight of his deception. He collapsed at Calyce's feet and confessed his true intentions, as well as his feelings, with tears streaming down his face. Davor apologized profusely, begging forgiveness for his betrayal and vowing to make amends. That he no longer wanted this artifact. Power no longer interested him. Not if he had to give up Calyce to have it.

Calyce, hurt and confused, listened to Davor's heartfelt confession. Even though his heart ached, Calyce recognized the sincerity of Davor's words. He saw the remorse in his eyes and the desire to change. With a mixture of caution and compassion, Calyce reached out to him, knowing that true love had the power to heal and transform.

He couldn't trust him right away, though. He would need time. They settled temporarily in a cottage near the sea, taking the time to rebuild a climate of trust and understanding between them. Davor focused only on making amends and proving his love and loyalty to Calyce. With time, Calyce's suspicion faded. He invited the sorcerer to follow him to his kingdom to meet his family and his people and Davor never mentioned the artifact. They lived sometimes in the cottage on land, sometimes in the palace under the sea.

Together, Calyce and Davor wrote a new chapter in their lives, one filled with true love, understanding, and a shared commitment to making things right. They embarked on several journeys across the land and sea world, with open hearts, knowing that their love had the power to overcome any obstacle that came their way.
