Athena's POV

"Val?" I whisper, the rooms dark I can't see anything. I try to move my arms but they're held down by something that feels like tape. Just then I see a light coming from what looks like a tunnel. It's a candle, and Val is holding it. I get a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I'm not safe. I mean why am I tied up? What's Val doing? As he gets closer I realized that's it's not Val, it's Sam.

"Sammy what's going on?" I ask him as he gets closer to me. He doesn't say anything he just smiles there a glimmer in his eye but not like what I'm used to. It's dark.. Almost sinister. "Sam i-" I stutter, my lip trembles.

"You found out something you weren't supposed to Athena...." He says softly, pulling out a pistol from his pants. He looks at it for a moment then points it at me. "Sam what are you doing?!" I scream at him, I try my best to move out of the way but the tape bounds me to the chair. "Goodnight" is all he says then he pulls the tigger.

I scream and jump up, "baby what's wrong?" I shoot my head to the side, relived to see it was just a dream. I cry and fall into his arms. "Shhh shh, it's okay you're safe." He soothes, petting my hair and holding me tightly. "I need you to tell me the truth tonight Val I can't wait till tomorrow." I say through my tears. I sit back, he wipes them from my face giving me a sorry look.

He sighs, like he doesn't know what to say. "What do you want to know first?" He asks me, "why did Sam kill that man's wife?" I ask, he looks a little surprisd at it, "He killed her to protect himself, she tried to slit his throat." He says, my hand goes over my mouth, hating the thought.

"So he fought the knife from her and well you get it..." He trails off. "Why were they fighting in the first place?" I ask, "it was a deal gone wrong pretty much, they had bought a certain amount of guns and ammo from us and swore we didn't give them all so Sam went to the warehouse to count, I went with him and so did Alex. We hadn't had any trouble with these people before. We had been in the trade for years actually. Our grandfather's actually were the ones that started with the family. So we didn't think anything of it. Nothing seemed suspicious. So we went and I was counting and Sam and Alex were on the look out for cops and such. And then she just comes up out of nowhere and starts attacking him. And she had another guy with her and he shot Alex then came at me, I didn't get injured but he well.. He got what he deserved. That was the night a the hospital." He finishes not looking at me.

"How many?" I ask softly. He glances at me then back to the wall. "How many people have you two killed?!" I ask anger taking over. I stand up out of bed and wait for my answer. He looks at me with tears in his eyes, "I stopped counting after a while..." He finally says. I give him a look of disbelief and run out of his room. He calls after me but I keep running until I get to my room. I lock the door behind me and sit down behind it bawling.

This is too cazy. I say to myself, too fucking crazy. My boyfriend and brother are killers! And I'm sure everyone else is too. I try to control by breathing, it could be worse right? At least they had a reason, self defense? Kill or be killed. Yeah I'm over reacting, it's my brother and boyfriend and my friends. They're not monsters!

I jump at the knock on my door, "Athena it's me open up!" I hear Sam coming from the outside. I sigh trying to compose myself. I stand up, my legs shaking. I unlock the door and open it. Sam gives me the same look Val had. He opens his arms up, I run into him and hug him. "I'm so sorry for everything." He says soothingly.

"I'm sorry for acting like this, I'm just trying to wrap my head around it all I mean... You and Val actually kill people.... I got kidnapped... I seen people be shot.. It's just all too much at once you know?" I say, he holds me tighter.
