Chapter five

(Katie's POV)

Once school was over we decided to go to our houses to change out of our school clothes.

We were going to meet at a park and from there we will drive in Mercedes car. Which will mean Zoe, Izzy, and I will have to walk to that park. It's not so far away from our house probably just three or five blocks away.

Getting in to my bedroom I threw my school bag on my bed and went to closet to get a change if clothes.

Looking through my wardrobe I decided on wearing some high waist washed jeans. A black crop top and my black high tops. It's perfect for me. I for sure don't wear crop tops to school because if I do I will be known as a slut.
I put my clothes on deciding to leave my hair in a high bun. Right on time I headed out the door making sure to get my purse and phone, and I started walking to the park.

10-20 minutes later I don't know I wasn't counting. I was at the park.
Everyone was there already.
"Like OMG!! Katie you look so cute!" Izzy shrieked.
" Thanks, you guys are always welcome on borrowing some of my clothes you know." I suggested
"Are you saying we look bad.." Zoe asked.
" Really Zoo leave it to you just to ruin the moment." I said in disbelief. "And no you guys do not look bad."
There clothes is actually really cute.
Mercedes is wearing white shorts with a teal long sleeve shirt, and white sandals.

Zoe is wearing skinny jeans with a white top that says 'don't mess with me' in black. And she is wearing high tops much like mine, but hers are white.

And Izzy, she's wearing a skaters dress that is black with black sandals.
'I recognize that dress.'

"Why are you looking at me like that." Izzy asked.

"Is that my dress?" I asked crossing my arms.
"Well ya." she said unsure of why I'm asking. " Hey!" She held her hands up in defeat. " I am not taking it off right now and right here." She said surely.
" Besides you barely said 'You guys could borrow my clothes whenever we want.' So here I am now wearing it." She tried saying the sentence that I said in my voice.

" First, I do not sound like that." I said laughing. " And second I don't care if you wear it. It looks really cute on you."

"Ok good, I was for sure not taking it off right here." She assured me.
Which made all of us chuckle.

"Ok can we go get food now?" Zoe asked

"Ya lets go gang." Mercedes said.

"Off to the Scooby Doo machine we go!" Zoe yelled and pointed to Mercedes car and then she started running.

"You heard her off we go. ' Gang ' To the Scooby Doo Machine!" And with that we went to the car.

Ten minutes later

"Mercury are we almost there I starving" whined Zoe.

" O MY GOSH!!!" Mercedes yelled "Zo Zo's walkin' puppy. Shut. Up. Please."

We all stared at her probably wondering what the heck was up with that nickname.

" What I got that off a kids commercial about this one toy puppy. You know"
She's gonna start singing just watch. She's a good singer but it's funny when she doesn't know what she is singing.
"Zo Zo's walkin' Puppies, pup, pup puppies!"

We all burst out laughing.
"No we do not know that commercial." I said in between laughs. "And are you sure it goes like that."

"Nope," she said popping the 'p'. " I just really wanted to call Zoe that." she said chucking.

" Sure...then are we almost there yet." Zoe asked for what felt like the billionth time.

"Yes! 'Zo Zo' were here." Mercedes answered.

"Finally let's go." Zoe said rushing out of the car.

We walked out of the car . And into the place. We went to a table. And waited a couple minutes till the waiter came.

"Hello, my name is Brett, I will be your waiter today." He said sending a wink my way. I tried to keep my self from blushing but failed. " Are you ladies ready to order?"

"Yes we are." I said in a big smile

Once we were done ordering Brett the waiter wrote everything done and left.
But came back minutes after.
"Hello again ladies, today is karaoke night. If any of you want to participate just let me know and I'll sign you up. And if you don't. You can stay and watch."
Me and Mercedes looked at each other probably thinking the same thing.

"Katie do you want to sing with me?" She said in a cheerful voice.

"I don't know I haven't sung in front of a crowd in like forever..."

"Come on it will be sooo fun we could sing.... 'Like I'm gonna lose you by Meghan Trainor ft. John legend!' Thats one of your favorite songs!" She said.

"Well..." I said looking at her. She was giving me puppy dog eyes. "Fine! Sign us up Brett."

"Ok" he sent me another wink and walked away.

"Thank you. thank you. thank you. Katie I owe you.what part do you want to sing?" Mercedes asked

"I don't know? You choose."

"Ok umm....... how 'bout You sing Meghan's part and I'll sing the harmony and johns part since you know this song better." she suggested.

I knew she was going to make me do Meghan's part since it is longer.

"It's fine with me." I lied. I had to do it either way.

Brett came back with out orders and some papers.

"Here are your ladies orders" he said with a smile and handed everyone there order. "And here are the papers in the order people will sing or stuff. You guys are the last ones on to sing. Good luck." I saw that there was a number on my it said 'call me?' I looked up at Brett who walked away already but looked back at me and made a phone signal with his hand and put it up to his ear winking.
I chuckled.

"Why you laughing?" Asked Izzy

I showed them my paper.

"Someone's got the hots for you." Zoe said wiggling her eyebrows. Everyone laughed. " Now let's eat"

"Yes sir" I mocked her.

"Shut it Kat."

I put my finger on my lips and pretended to zip it shut.

I'm just nervous to sing.
