Purged of fear with poisons
Tormented by horrific harlots of the underworld
Or compelled to spill his own essence by trickery
The immortal promise killed the island king
Deceived by one as radiant as his former ward
The nail ebbed away the great one's will
A victim of his own design
The protector lay dead
The isle lay bare
Plunderers came to take their share
Safe no more from greed
A giant hole could never be filled
Claimed to the pits of Hades
Taken before his time
Glinting with rays of sunlight
