POV: Lifty

I tried to fluster him like Splendid suggested, but he's too good for my tricks! I was left sitting right in front of him, not sure what to do. What if he didn't even like me like I liked him? I was super confused for a second—why did I do that.. what did I even do?! My mind was racing until I felt my sleeve being pulled up gently.

"I still have to heal your wounds from earlier, Lifty." His voice was so soothing, for a quick second it made me feel less worried. But as he wrapped bandages gently around my arms, I couldn't help but feel like his comforting words were false. Dude, I just pinned you to the ground, I thought. You're just gonna move on?! That fast?! I tried to shrug it off, and just held out my bruised arm and let him fix it up. I enjoyed every single second of it. The way he accidentally touched my arm sometimes made my heart flutter. I didn't know why.

Splendont was so cool. The evil counterpart to Splendid, the hero. So what's he doing with me? Out of Shifty and I, I guess I'm a bit better. I just follow whatever he says. My phone lit up, and while Splendont was bandaging me, I used my free arm to check the message. My brother texted me! I was instantly excited, because he had been ghosting me for two days straight, until I saw the message.

I was left on read.. as per usual. When things didn't go his way, he left me on read and got his way. I only did what he wanted because I'm too scared to defend myself to Shifty. He's strong, and he's the leader. And he's my brother. I can't fight my brother! That'd break us apart, and I care about my brother more than anyone. No matter what he takes me into. Stealing? I love him too much to say no. Crimes? I guess so. Anything he suggested, I took it.

Suddenly, my phone was grabbed gently from my hand, and Splendont was typing. He handed it back and my face turned pale in shock. "Splendont?! You can't say that to him!" I yelled, nervous about what Shifty would do to me for that message. "I'll protect you. He needs to learn something! You're always going along with what he says," he replied. I quickly shot back, "Because he's my brother and I love him!" I forgot all about being scared of him, dropping my phone on the floor (which wasn't far enough for it to break) screen up.

You can't boss me around. You're the worst brother ever. I'd rather die than go stealing with you.

The phone lit up with a new notification, so I grabbed it. I was frantic to reply, but as I sent the text, a pop up came up: "You have been blocked by this user. You cannot send messages, but you can receive them. If you do not want to receive messages, click here to block the user back." My eyes widened. "What did you do?" I asked, seeing the text.

Shifty wasn't rude. He was scary, and could get mad at times, but he wasn't aggressive.. normally. Knowing Splendont had lashed out on him, I expected him to come over and kill me. But Splendont wasn't going to let that happen, I could see it in his eyes. He looked determined.
