POV: Splendont
I know what I did was wrong, and I know that Shifty is gonna be mad about it. But.. for whatever reason, I get really defensive over Lifty, and I didn't want him to be treated like that. So I took matters into my own hands. I knew Shifty wouldn't hurt anyone, not intentionally, but I could tell that Lifty was thinking about it. He never betrayed Shifty before, acting like his loyal follower, but I wouldn't let that happen anymore.
I jumped to hear a knock on the door. This fast? "Come on Lifty," I said, standing up and making my way downstairs, opening the door. "Is Lifty here?" Shifty asked, trying not to look so upset. "He is, but first, I have to tell you something." I sighed. "I sent the message." Shifty eyed me, completely dumbfounded. "You what? And he let you?" "No. He didn't let me. I took his phone because I was fed up of you bossing him around like he's your dog." I backed away from the door in case he wanted to come in. "Splendont, forget Lifty. We're gonna battle," he said, staring at me menacingly, "We'll fight for this."
I paced my room at 6 PM. It had been about 3 hours and we had agreed to fight at 6:15, but I couldn't shake the overwhelming dread and guilt I felt for almost ruining Lifty's relationship with his brother. But I think it was worth it, because.. Shifty isn't a leader, Lifty is just gullible. He needs someone like me, who has good morals, to follow after. I left the house without telling Lifty. I knew he'd be worried, but he could be asleep by the time I came back, because he had been acting very tired lately.
I met Shifty on the battleground. I knew he wouldn't hold back, and I knew I wouldn't either. As soon as the fight started, which was seemingly really quick, I launched at him and tackled him. As I pinned him, he grabbed me by the shirt collar and threw me all the way to a nearby fence, which really hurt as you can guess. I quickly regained composure and fought back, running at him and roundhouse kicking him in the face. My leg was bleeding from hitting the fence so hard, but I was in a fight. I couldn't give up. I couldn't be weak, no.
