GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PULLS!!
Furina pushed the doors of his office, the sound of her heels ringing across the room.
"You need to control your emotions for archons sake, Neuvillette." She sighed. Her gaze swept over his office and landed on you, who was sitting on the couch feeling out of place.
"Ahh, countess, how have you been?" She asked. "I hope your not too shaken from the trial."
"Thank you for your concern Lady Furina." You glanced over at Neuvillette. "I can assure you that no emotional harm has been done to me since the trial."
"Ahh, this reminds me of something very important that I have to discuss with you." Furina smiled at Neuvillette. "What is the countess doing here?"
"She is under my terms as I have hired the lovely countess here to be my assistant. I unfortunately have too much work to do on my hands and I may need some help." He explained, taking a seat, and gesturing you to stay on the couch.
"Well what is she doing after office hours?" Furina put her hands on her hips. "And why is she working? I thought she had mora, unless..."
"I can assure you Lady Furina, I accepted Monsieur Neuvillette's deal under my own conditions." You answered, shooting her a glare. "And in terms of mora, I have mora. I chose to work since sitting around in a house was rather tedious for me."
She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "And here I was, under the assumption that you were that Spina Di somethings little assistant."
"Her name's Navia, my lady." You corrected her.
"You dare to talk back to me?" She gasped, placing her hand over her chest. "Of course, I didn't expect the house of l/n to have manners anyway."
"Don't speak of my family like that." You stood up. "And plus, I wasn't talking back to you. I thought that's how a conversation works." You looked down at her, realising that she was much shorter than you.
"H-Hey, don't look down on me like that!" She pushed you away from her, causing you to nearly trip on your heel. "I'll take the title of countess away from you. You don't deserve it anyways."
"You don't deserve the title of an archon!" You retorted.
"Why, you-"
"Why don't you ladies calm down and settle this in a rational and calm manner?" Neuvillette suggested.
"Well, Monsieur Neuvillette, which do you want more? The truth and honesty that my good citizens want, or a stupid countess that can't even think before she speaks?" Furina asked, crossing her arms. "Plus you've been the Iudex for a good 400 years. Don't you think it may be time to retire? I don't mind seeing a new Chief of Justice anytime soon."
'400 years?! Maybe he is the hydro dragon sovereign after all.' You thought.
"Countess y/n, I have to request that you leave Palais Mermonia and not return as my assistant. Please have a safe trip." Neuvillette finished, showing no emotion at all.
"You heard him, countess, leave." Furina smirked. "Ta-ta!"
You could only stare at him in disbelief, but it made sense anyway. He was the Iudex, and you were a countess. Although both were considered royalty, at the end of the day, he would choose his job over you any day.
