*Sarah's POV*

I can not believe it. It's my first day at the BAU, and I have been waiting for this for such a long time. As soon as I found out about Derek's job, I became extremely interested in his job and he suggested I give it a shot. I already have the correct qualifications, I just needed other bits and bobs to get me through.

*Derek's POV*

We get into the car. Poor thing. She's so nervous, she's shaking. I grab hold of her hand and give it a reassuring squeeze and kiss her forehead lightly just before she starts the car.

We've decided it's probably best if we tell everyone about us. I mean, they would work it out anyway; they are profilers after all.

*Sarah's POV*

I nervously step out of the elevator. Derek leads me into the bullpen. He starts introducing people that are already there.

Only a few of the team are left to come but for the time being I go to the coffee machine and make myself a strong coffee. As I turn to walk off, I bump into a tall, wavy haired man and nearly spill my coffee over us both.

"Oh, gosh. I'm s-so sorry." I exclaim. "It's just my first day and I'm feeling a bit on the nervous side."
The guy awkwardly smiles but avoids eye contact. "Erm, it's completely fine. I felt the same when it was my first day."
I put my hand out for him to shake but he doesn't shake it. "I-I don't shake hands. I'm a bit of a germaphobe. I'm Dr Spencer Reid, and your name is?"
"Sarah Chapman. I'll be joining the team for what I hope will be a long time." I say with a shaky voice.

I've just taken in what he looks like. Wow, he's pretty attractive. What are you thinking Sarah? You have a boyfriend.
I realise I'm staring and look away quickly, then make an excuse to leave.

What on earth was that? I got butterflies in my stomach just from that short conversation with him.

Derek quickly shakes me out of thought by wrapping his arms around my waist. He whispers that we have a case.

We go to the conference room and Penelope Garcia explains my first case. In the corner of my eye, I can see Reid staring at me intensely. I can't help but being distracted by this.

"Wheels up in 30, then" says Aaron Hotchner as the meeting ends.

I pick up my messenger bag and go for the door but am stopped by a hand pulling at my small wrist. I turn. It's Derek.

"Are you okay, sweetie?" he asks as everyone leaves the conference room.
"Mmhm," I say and nod my head whilst biting my bottom lip. He raises an eyebrow and I sigh, realising what I'll have to say. "Reid was staring at me that entire meeting and it was really distracting, that's all."
"Ooh, maybe pretty boy has a 'lil crush." I roll my eyes, hug his neck and peck his lips.
"Come on, we'll be late if you keep holding me up like this." I say smiling.

We leave the BAU to go to the plane for my first case.
