Chapter Five

*Sarah's POV*

My phone beeps. It's JJ.

Hey, it's Jen. We were all wondering if you wanted to come out for a drink with us? I'll come pick you up around 7. Think of it as a welcoming party

I reply

I'd love to. See you then

I rush to my wardrobe, immediately worried about what to wear. A dress. But, what dress? I lay out all of my dresses on my king sized bed and inspect them to see which is the most fitting for tonight.

I make my decision and pick up a black strappy dress that is tight at the top but flares at the waist.

Then, I go to my vanity and apply my normal makeup but add a red lip, curl my hair and hairspray it to give it a bit more volume and to keep it in place.

Before I know it, I hear the bell ring. I run to the door, almost tripping over my own feet to open it to JJ and Penelope . "Aw, you two look stunning." I say in awe. They hug me tightly, "I wish I could pull something like that off" says JJ and Penelope nods "You look super duper hot, girly" Penelope says whilst winking at me. I giggle, grab my purse and slip on my little heels. I shut the door behind me and we head for the car.

"I heard about you and Derek, I'm so sorry Sarah" Penelope says sadly. "Thanks, it's just a break though, we haven't split up completely" "I know. He really cares for you, you know" "I know, I care for him too. It's just too much right now. I'm sure we'll be back together in no time." I say smiling and try to change the topic of conversation. "Who's going to be there?" "The whole team." "We're here!" exclaims Penelope and we all giggle with excitement as Jen finds a spot to park and we hop out, all linking arms together.

We enter the bar still linking arms and see the team already sat at a table together. When we get over to them, we all exchange greetings. I hesitate at Derek but kiss his cheek and smile awkwardly.

Rossi gets up to get us drinks. "What would you ladies like to drink?" "Just a water. I'm the DD for tonight" says Jennifer. "Surprise me" shouts Penelope. "Er, sex on the beach please?" Rossi nods and goes over to the bar.

After a while, the girls hear a song they love and pull me up from my seat to dance with them. I find the rhythm of the song and dance to it. The girls sit down after the song has finished but I'm enjoying myself too much to notice. A tanned guy brushes up against me when I'm dancing. I push him off me and turn to him, frown and strut away.

*Spencer's POV*

She looks so beautiful up there. I wish I could join her but I can't. I get distracted from looking at Sarah when a very drunk Derek stumbles over, nearly knocking my drink. He has to grab my shoulder to steady himself.

He points to Sarah. "That girl, right there has the most amazing set of legs," he mumbles to me and continues "and her arse is just..." he makes an explosion noise. I tense up and get nervous. "I-I've never looked" I blush. He shouldn't speak about her like that. He should respect her.

I plod over to the bar to get myself a shot. "What ya getting?" Sarah says and elbows me. "Er, a shot" "Wow Reid, I thought you were a 'one glass of red for the night' type of guy" she chuckles and it makes me smile. "Yeah, I am. Just felt like I needed it." She frowns "Are you okay Reid?" she asks and pulls me into a hug. "I'll be fine when I get my drink" I laugh. "Well, Reid, you know I'm always here if you need me." I nod "Anyway, let me get you something" I say to her "I might as well join you with a shot"

I ask the barman for two shots and he sets them up on the bar pretty quickly. We pick up the little glasses and clink them together before downing them. I cough and she laughs. "How do you feel now?" "Even worse" and we laugh together. "Thanks for the drink" she says, kisses my cheek and runs back off to dance.

*Sarah's POV*

"What was that?" asks Jen when we walk along to the car with Penelope dragging behind us a bit. "What was what?" I ask with a confused face. "You and Spence, just then" "What about it?" "You looked kinda fucking adorable" "What do you mean? We're just friends and I'm kind of still with Derek, in a way." "Hmm, okay," she says raising an eyebrow. "I'll have to drop Pen off first cos there is no way I can get this drunken lady into her house by myself" says Jennifer as we get into the car. I look at Penelope in the back of the car, she's struggling to get her seatbelt on and look back at Jen "I see what you mean" and we burst into laughter.

We drive to Penelope's house first and struggle to get her inside. She kept shouting at plants on the way in which was just hilarious. JJ then drives to mine and we wish each other good night.

I feel my eyes begin to droop as soon as I get in the door. I make sure to shut the door and drag myself to my room. I take off most of my clothes, just leaving my bra and knickers on. I'm so tired, I can't be bothered to put on my pyjamas. I throw myself onto my bed and almost instantly fall asleep.
