*Spencer's POV*

My phone vibrates against the wooden desk. I pick it up to see a message from Derek. Oh shit.

Hey, Pretty Boy. We need to talk. Lunch?

Sure.
I reply

All of a sudden, I feel sick with nerves. I'm the worst friend ever.

I look up and Sarah is looking at me with a concerned look and gets up from her chair, heading toward me.

"Spence, are you okay? You look as pale as a ghost." I look back down at my paperwork, trying to avoid eye contact, knowing that Derek is probably looking. "Derek texted me saying we need to talk but I won't know what to say. I mean, I have feelings for you, I can't deny that but he's my best friend Sarah. I betrayed him." "I betrayed him too Spence. I'm coming with. We need to all sort this out together." I gulp heavily and she walks away toward Derek.

*Sarah's POV*

I walk towards Derek at his desk trying to come off as being calm but I'm shaking like a leaf.

"Derek?" I almost whisper as I sit cautiously on the edge of his desk. He looks up at me from his paperwork with puppy eyes. He looks like hell. "Mmhm?" He whimpers. "I heard you texted Spencer. I'm coming too. We all need to sort this out. I don't want this to be awkward." I say looking into his brown eyes. I grab his hand putting our hands into my lap. "I couldn't be more sorry Derek. Honestly." He looks at me with tearful eyes and squeezes my hand then lets go as a sign for me to leave. I give him a pitiful smile before returning to my work.

*Derek's POV*

Even after all she's done, she's still so perfect, so special, so precious. I snap out of my short daydream and go to the bathroom.

I turn on the cold tap and throw water over my face to calm myself down.

I feel a hand on my shoulder making me jump.

"You okay bud?" says David. I shake my head yes. I nod before leaving the bathroom quickly.

I sit back down in my seat getting back to what seems an endless pile of paperwork.

The hour drags by and I text Sarah and Reid for us to go. I meet them in the lift and an awkward silence swallows the atmosphere and is only cut by the occasional nervous cough. The lift dings when we get to the ground floor.

"So where are we going?" asks Sarah in a nervously cheerful voice. "I thought the place down the road might be good." I mumble. We leave the building and begin walking the short journey to the coffee shop round the corner in again complete silence. Every so often I catch Reid glancing at Sarah almost lovingly. He has fallen for her. So have I. I miss being with her so much already. I can tell I'm not going to get her back though, they are utterly lovestruck.

We reach the coffee shop and order our food. We all sit at a small round table.

I take a deep breath and I begin the conversation. "Listen, I know I'm not going to get you back. Look at you two, but I want to say a few things. I love you Sarah," my voice starts to shake. "But I know you don't want me back. I know that."
Sarah reaches out her hand to mine and I take it. I look at Spencer and pat him on the back. The food comes along with our drinks. We all say our thanks to the waitress.

I finish off my sandwich and before leaving I look back at Spencer again. "I love you man. Please, take care of her, she's special." I ruffle his hair trying to show I'm happy for them. I get up from my seat and pay, leaving them to it.

*Spencer's POV*

"I wasn't expecting that" I say smiling at her. "Neither was I." We get up to pay for our own meal. As we leave the coffee shop she pulls me into a tight hug. I bury my face into her shoulder and smell her sweet hair. We stay that way for a good few minutes before separating. I really needed that. I look into her crystal blue eyes with my hands placed on her waist.

I lick my bottom lip. It's a nervous tick of mine. She smiles sweetly knowing this. I look down to her lips and back up to her eyes. I lean in slowly and pull her face to mine. Within another second my lips are attached to hers, it almost becomes passionate until she pulls away breathless. "Want to come back to mine for a bit?" I nod shyly, holding her hand.
