The smell of... eggs and bacon hit Y/N like a truck. Suddenly she felt the urge to go locate the source of the heavenly smell.

She walked down the stairs to see Tatum at the stove and a pile of freshly scrambled eggs on the table. She turned to look at her and gestured over at the pile of empty plates and cutlery on the counter.

Y/N pulled a chair and sat while Tatum hummed to herself while she stirred the bacon.

"Wow, Tate. This tastes incredible!"

"Haha, thank you. I thought some bacon and eggs would get us in the mood for some hard work!"

Y/N smiled. She loved Tatum so much- she was like a sister, always there for her, always supporting her. They've been friends for years. They practically grew up together- attending the same school and now the same college. Funny isn't it? Y/N thought to herself while she ate. Someday their children will be friends, and hopefully the children of their children. This is a friendship that will last a lifetime...

"What's on the to-do list for today?"
Tatum asked breaking Y/N out of thought

"Well, I have to finish my essay on Social psychology, I have to copy some notes for History of psychology, and then I should really revise for the upcoming midterms I have next week. But I also have a presentation for next week, but I can do that on Monday or Tuesday."

Tatum nodded

"Okay then. So you'll revise and I'll finish the essay and copy your notes."

"You sure? Your handwriting is horrendous!"
Y/N joked.

"Hey! Watch your mouth. You're eating MY food right now."
Tatum defended herself.

Y/N loved how they would talk to each other. The way they 'insult' one another all in a joking manner. She wondered what she would ever do without her.

After finishing with their food they put the dishes in the sink and make their way upstairs to Y/Ns room.

They did their designated work for a few hours, but as soon as the sun started to set they knew they needed a break. It couldn't have been later than 7 PM, so it was time for dinner.

The girls made some spaghetti and chatted about the work done. Not a lot was left so they were both happy with the progress made.

"Look I'm telling you, Casey's brother is a REAL catch! He works in their father's law firm at just 25 years old! Where will you find a man THAT successful and good-looking?"
Tatum said.

"Well, I'll have to check him out then. Who knows? Maybe he is the man for me."
Y/N said in a joking manner.

"They say Prince Charming rides on a white horse, but who knows- maybe yours will ride in a white Bentley."

The two girls shared a laugh when they heard a noise coming from outside. It wasn't super loud, but it still managed to get their attention. It sounded like a gardening pot shattering.

Y/N was scared, wondering if that thing from the woods had followed her home last night. She rushed over to the door, making sure it was locked. She started checking all of the windows too, but Tatum interrupted her.

"Y/N, calm down. The wind probably knocked something over."
Tatum put a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to get her to calm down.

"There isn't any wind. I didn't hear it"
Y/N protested.

"Well, okay then. Probably some stray cat knocked it over, or maybe it was too close to the edge."

Y/N looked at her.

"Why are you so calm? You would be freaking out normally."

"Well, I started taking some Yoga classes this week and this has been wonderful for my nerves. Also what has gotten into you? You've been acting strange all day."
Tatum said, still holding a grip on her friend's shoulder.

Y/N didn't know what to do. Should she explain what she saw yesterday? And how some demon-looking creature could be stalking them, all because she craved some gelatine animals at 12 in the morning? What should she do? Her mind raced and so did her heart. Tatum noticed and took her over to their living room couch and sat her down. She put her hands in hers

"Look, N/N. I think college has been stressing you out recently. Since September you've been overworking yourself and I feel like that's taking a huge toll on you."

Y/N knew she was right. But she grew up a procrastinator. She knew that overworking herself was the best way she could get work done. She envied Tatum for how she had time to do everything and still get good grades, while she had to break her back studying to get the same results.

"You know what? You're probably right."
Said Y/N admiring defeat.

"Look, Y/N. Why don't you go to bed early tonight? I'll finish up with the notes and you can catch some good and much needed Zzz's and tomorrow you can finish revising. How's that sound?"

Y/N smiled at her friend. Tatum always knew what to say and do to make her feel alright. And as much as she hated to say it- Tatum was right. She had been losing her mind with paranoia. It was probably due to the fact that her mid-term exams were coming up and she didn't want to miss even a second of her time.

The blonde got up from the couch to go and fetch water for Y/N. While waiting she thought about the last 24 hours and how this was all probably a huge coincidence.

Y/N thought that her sleep-deprived mind conjured up some Hell-Ish creature and that the Reddit post camera footage was photoshopped. And everything was one huge coincidence- now that makes more sense now, doesn't it?

As her friend got back with the water Y/N was fully calm my now. Her explanation of things leaving her satisfied. As she got up to go to her room, her roommate followed not too far behind

"Hey, if you need anything just know that I'm right down the hall, okay?"
Y/N nodded in response and got into her room.

"Sweet dreams, N/N. I love you."
Said Tatum, her voice getting more distant as she went back into her room after retreating the supplies needed to continue her work.

"Love you too, Tate."
Said Y/N in response as she closed the door.

Her room was dark now- the only light coming from the window ahead. She looked out of it, getting lost in thought. How stupid this whole situation was. She had made a fool of herself downstairs. She thought about asking Tatum if she could go with her to these Yoga classes- they really must be working if they helped her friend.

Y/N pulled away from the bed and started undressing herself. She put on her pyjamas, hit in bed and pulled the covers over her.  She felt like the blanket was now her shield against everything. She managed to fall asleep rather quickly, completely oblivious of the dangers lurking just outside...
